HUD should be green. Not the tint currently implemented.

Also, NAVFLIR is very low resolution in DCS.

I think it used to be sharper (like real life) in earlier release, but it was

changed to lower rez when it was patched from b&w to green color.

Proper NAVFLIR resolution is very important for navigation. I did a flight yesterday, and it was almost impossibe to make out anything. There seems to be a big sort of grid overlay (also affects DMT resolution).

Please have a look.

Thanks for a fine module, looking forward to see new features and updates :)

Is it possible to have a response from Razbam about these DMT and HUD/Navflir resolution problems ???

If you fancy it, you can help RAZBAM with this issue by finding the correct color yourself.

Go to this folder; DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit

In there you'll see a file called materials.lua. Open this with Notepad++ (download here)

Go to line 30 and you should see this;

materials["HUD_GREEN_BRIGHT"]			= {0, 204, 102, 255}	-- hud_indicator_color = {0,204,102,255}

This is the color for the HUD elements. It's in the format RGBA. Each number varies from 0 to 255.

R = Red

G = Green

B = Blue

A = alpha / opacity

Tweak those numbers to until you find the color that you feel fits best. Post screenshots too!

Thanks for the info. But I rather not as modifying the lua will break integrity check.

I have done some further tests on the DMT resolution. Bumping Res. of cockpit displays to 1024 every frame in options will make it a bit better. Guess it uses the same system as cockpit mirrors do.

The main issue is the "grid" overlay. If it is removed it will be a lot clearer. Higher contrast and saturation might also help.

I think there is a mod that sort of help with this. But again, modded lua files breaks integrity check.

Hope Razbam see this thread and find a solution :noexpression:

I've just checked, modding the .lua's doesn't fail IC. Here I am playing online with modded materials.lua -

Strangely tho changing the values for the color don't seem to have affected it in game. As you'll see it's still green! I don't know why that is at the moment, I'll have to look further into it.

I think you might be able to replace the grid texture file with a transparent .dds and still play online without failing IC. I'll give it a shot now.

EDIT; I've just checked. You can play online with modded .dds in DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit\Resources\MPCD. It doesn't fail IC. But don't use a transparent dds, it makes the FLIR useless!

Is there any way to change the transparence of the hud glass. IMO it looks too dark.

Razbam where are you ?????

I made a mod "correcting" the same problem on the TPOD.

You could do the same for the HUD ... it's just a matter of finding the right file.

What gets me more is the fact he's taxiing at 29% RPM which is fully idle without getting stuck to the ground. However, this is a general DCS issue. I'll mark the day in my calendar when the general magical auto wheel brake at v=0 finally gets removed. At the moment, some planes need 80% or even more RPM (physical throttle levers past 50%) to get off position which is just ridiculous - the harrier is quite pleasant in that regard though, but still pinkiepieexcited.png
