I have new Samsung Odyssey Plus goggles for several days and unfortunately I have a problem of shifted image from one eye to another only in DCS. The rest of the application worked without a problem. The only option to run DCS without this shift is to use the Inject function in Revive, but the resolution is very poor. I bought these goggles only for the DCS simulator and I hope that someone will solve this problem.

Maybe has to do with IPD setting (in DCS)?

Unfortunately, IPD settings in DCS do not affect this misalignment. It is possible that the source of this problem lies in the physical adjustment of the IPD parameter in the goggles. Other sets, except for Samsung, have this adjustment only through the software. In the case of Samsung, the values are taken from the goggles with an accuracy of 3 decimal places, it is possible that this is the source of the problem. I am waiting patiently for some fix, update ...

Fix/update by who, by Samsung or by Microsoft's Mixed Reality team?

Hi together,

I‘ve ordered today a Medion Erazer X1000 which is identical to the Lenovo Explorer. Was quite cheap here in Germany for 199€ directly from their store, so I couldn‘t resist and longer

Now my question is, has anyone already tried the „Mixed Reality Flashlight“ feature recently introduced by Microsoft? This b/w see through camera picture could be handy for reading a printed manual or making notes on a real kneeboard during a mission. Are there any experiences so far?

Question:

I've been using a Rift for the last 12 months, which I'm happy with, but just bought an O+ as I'm curious to see if it's incrementally better.

Is it possible to have both the Rift and Odyssey plugged in at the same time (my graphics card has enough inputs for both), or do they trip over each other?

In addition to DCS I play other games where the Rift hand controllers are useful, and would rather not have to switch out headsets on a regular basis. Has anyone experimented with this?

Thanks

Give it a try, I would "think" you should be fine. If any issue shut down the Rift service running (either through debug tool or Oculus Tray Tool) and give it a try again.

You can stop the Oculus service from running when you boot up your PC if you will use the Samsung. But I don't think you can use the rift controllers with the Odyssey. The Odyssey controllers don't use the rift sensors and can't since they don't require it and have different tracking. Check out Revive for oculus games that you can play on the Odyssey using the Odyssey controllers.

Hey all we are aware of the issue and determined that the DCS team will need to make changes to fix it. We reached out to their team and will work with them to fix this in an upcoming DCS release

Very good to know. I have the original Odyssey and luckily I don't have the misalignment issue. I wonder if it's particular to the Odyssey +

I know Wags uses an Odyssey too but he hasn't mentioned having this issue either. Good to know they will fix it whether it's windows or the DCS team.

He said in another post that he's using mostly Rift these days. I took it that the Odyssey was perhaps a loaner?

Maybe he was just testing some things with the Odyssey for a while. I know the Odyssey isn't as comfortable as the rift. But I can't go back to the rift because I like the resolution of the Odyssey much more.

At least with the rift I could breath lol the Odyssey squeezes my nose a lot and I'm often stuffed up so it's annoying.

tuck the nose flaps under the lenses and move the padding slightly away from the edges

Had no clue you could slide the padding over. I'll try to get rid of those flaps. Thanks!

I can copy this. It's perfectly visible in table views, when the IPD is adjusted via the scroll wheel at the nose. The WMR overlay is on different hights in the left and right eye. The is quite straining for the eyes after a while.

As per post #235 notes, it's up to DCS to fix. Make sense since other games seem to be fine.

I have no idea what it depends on. I bought my Odyssey Plus together with a friend and his goggles do not have any misalignment on DCS, I can not fly. The goggles software version has the same 1.0.1 so I do not know what the differences are. I checked my goggles on another computer and it was the same problem with DCS :(

The strange thing is that my odyssey+ don't have that misalignment problem :(

Is that random, or is that some revision of headset have it, other don't ?

same here, my buddy and I have the + and no issues with alignment.

check out this thread. May want to avoid the 200% super sampling with a 1060 though(leave at 100%) and just run PD at 1.3-1.5 in game.

These are my settings for VR with a PD of 1.5 if anyone wants to try them out. Runs smoothly enough for me on the Odyssey. Hopefully it helps someone out. I know I got tired of messing with settings to try to get the best visual/performance for a while. 6fa9278bb0d28f8c341c3d2b592a5245.jpg

In addition to the suggestions above, don't forget that VR HMDs have varying sweet spot. So make sure you try moving the HMD around until you can see clearly. Try pushing the HMD closer to your eyes, for example. And if you're near sighted, you'll see need your glasses. Finally, make sure you map a button on your controller/joystick for VR Zoom.

Gentlemen with Odyssey Plus goggles without misalignment in DCS, could you paste the data from your goggles as described in the post:

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3750263&postcount=10

I would like to see if the parameters in Odyssey Plus goggles on which DCS can be run without problems are more symmetrical.
