No problem with an older Harrier version. Let's wait and see what happens.

Yeah, the sea harrier would be a perfect fit. However, its not coming any time soon. Hopefully Raz can finish up the current harrier/mirage/mig19 and then get onto the mig23.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

Currently working on a mission where I'm also trying to include 2 x MiG-29A's and 2 x M2000's but in a way where objectives have to be accomplished first to earn that. So still working on implementing a scenario that would make sense do so. And this mission I'm working on has a small number of the available aircraft. Hope it'll be ready this week. Next one at the latest.

Good :)

Actually if you limit the harrier to no TPOD, and no guided weps the AV8B isn't too bad IMO, and the original did fly right at the end of the CW. The ARBS/DMT capability existed in the A4M for a long time during the cold war too. I think most player issue with it is the all aspect Aim-9M.

Why is it that everyone on here seems to have no problem complaining about an Aim-9M when the Russian planes are and have been using the R-60M that is literally from the exact same year as the Aim-9M. The R-60M has the exact same performance from a file config perspective as the Aim-9M. Plus they are often carrying more of them the Harrier can even carry. Talk about all aspect, everytime I merge with a 21 on here they are firing multiple R-60M head on with my engine throttled all the way back.

One sided arguments.

Operation: Once Upon a Time in Abu Dhabi

Situation:

*** The mission lasts for 4 hours, unless the objective is completed ***

Here in the south of the region the clashes continue and the fight over the major and vital city of Abu Dhabi is inevitable. Both coalitions are trying to capture all 4 airbases at the city to secure the area and dominate the coastline. Mi-8's and UH-1's are tasked with deploying crates to complete the objective.

To win the day, a coalition has to capture and hold all 4 airbases. After that the mission ends and the server rotates.

The 4 airbases at Abu Dhabi are:
* Abu Dhabi International Airport is Red at mission's start.
* Sas Al-Nakheel Airport is Red at mission's start.
* Al-Bateen Airport is Blue at mission's start.
* Al Dhafra AB is Blue at mission's start.

Red Objectives:

MiG's and L-39's:

- Provide CAP south, southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi (watch out for AAA's and SAM's!)
- Provide cover for our helicopters.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ka-50's and Mi-24's:

- Search and destroy enemy ground units anywhere you find them, mainly at the airbases.
- Escort Mi-8's on their way in for deploying crates to capture the airbases.

Ka-50 ABRIS Waypoints / Mi-24 Waypoints:
WP-1 - Home base - FARP Shpora.
WP-2 - Abu Dhabi International Airport (Red at mission's start).
WP-3 - Sas Al Nakheel Airport (Red at mission's start).
WP-4 - Al-Bateen Airport (Blue at mission's start).
WP-5 - Al Dhafra AB (Blue at mission's start).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mi-8's:

Pilots! You are the backbone of today's tough mission. We need your expertise in swift transportation tasks at the front-line more than ever. Capturing all 4 airbases at the city of Abu Dhabi is very vital (only Abu Dhabi International and Sas Al Nakheel airbases are friendly at mission's start). Do that and we win the day!

- Deploy crates to capture the airbases at Abu Dhabi.
- Set up SAM's and AAA's to fortify our defence line.
- Deploy ground units at the captured airbases. (Note that the airbases we capture have only 4 Shilkas upon capturing)
- Deploy EWR's to provide a clearer picture if needed.

* If a GCI operator is available, make sure you contact him and provide your service as he requires *

Mi-8's -> Picking up crates:
Bring up your radio menu, select F10 for CTLD and then whatever type of crates you want to pick up.

*** You can only pick up one crate at a time ***

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds while keeping an altitude of at least 7.5 meters and a maximum altitude of 15 meters.

To unpack a crate, make sure you're at least 3 km away from the FARP you started at.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Combined Arms:

The 2 cmdr slots are for players controlling ground units while being on SRS with each other and other players to coordinate their attacks.
You MUST be on SRS as a cmdr operator!
You can use the JTAC slot to drive a ground unit. However, that requires you being on comms with cmdr operators to avoid confusion and/or causing problems to their attacks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frequencies:

EWR / GCI: 124 MHz - Channel 0 for MiG-21's and L-39's. Channel 2 for MiG-19's. Mi-24's R-863 - Channel 0
EWR-MiG-15 (Callsign: 15): 4.95 MHz (tuned in by default)

ATC: 126 MHz - Channel 5 for MiG-21's and MiG-19's. Channel 1 for L-39's.

FARP Shpora: 127.5 MHz - Mi-24's R-863 - Channel 18
Shpora NDB: 512 kHz

Al Ain International Airport NDB: 588 kHz

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blue Objective:

F-5's, F1's, F-86's and C-101's:

- Provide CAP south, southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi (watch out for AAA's and SAM's!)
- Provide cover for our helicopters.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SA342M's and SA342L's:

- Search and destroy enemy ground units anywhere you find them, mainly at the airbases.
- Escort UH-1's on their way in for deploying crates to capture the airbases.

Waypoints:
WP-1 - Al Dhafra AB (Blue at mission's start).
WP-2 - Al-Bateen Airport (Blue at mission's start).

Looks great! Do the helos use "real slingloading" or the simulated multiplayer style?

(He asks while nervously re-reading Chapter 13 of the Mi-8 flight manual.)

Loading crates (AAA's/SAM units, etc.) is simulated slingloading! You'll have to hover over a crate for 5 seconds and then a message will confirm that. I've added this to the Mi-8's/UH-1's detailed briefing.

Loading the ammo boxes to activate the MiG-29A's/M-2000C's is actual slingloading, so you better get on that manual and start reading :smilewink:

Outstanding, in the future, will the Mig-29As and Mirages get replaced with F-4s and Mig-23s? Or will they remain?

Haven't thought about it. Still in the fear future. We'll see.

Looks like the latest open beta update is causing problems after all? The server's down and I'm not at home to bring it back up. Will do in 4-5 hours. Sorry for this. Hope ED fixes the latest update ASAP.

Hi there, great to see the new mission thank you very much for your dedication to this extremely fun server, i need to ask if you are going to maintain the current 2.5.6 version of DCS. Its so broken that im going to revert to the previous one. Would you consider doing that too?? this is the only multiplayer server i ever go into so it will depend on that if i revert or not. Again thank you very much.

Looks like I will have to. Give me 30-60 minutes and I'll let you all know before I launch the new mission. Gotta run some tests.

Server's up and running on the latest open beta update. should be fine actually.

Current mission is the new one: Operation Once Upon a Time in Abu Dhabi

Share your feedback regarding the new mission's concept of involving 2 x Red MiG-29A's and 2 x Blue M-2000C's (both with guns and IR missiles only), please.

S!

It seems the 29A are active from the start with full armament :)

EDIT: with R-27 and R-60

Mirage has no missiles, while the MiG-29 has only R-27ER and ET

- Armament for MiG-29A and M-2000C: Fixed

- Just tested the mission again on the previous open beta version and both the MiG-29A and the M-2000C are not available at mission's start. Must be the open beta's latest update screwing up things then.

Keep me updated with other issues, please

EDIT:

Server's going back to the previous Open Beta version. The latest one is really causing trouble.
