gizmo Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Hi All, I was wondering on why my aircraft does not have the contrail on the wing like other aircraft do even with a tight turn? Is it just me or am i missing on something. Would appreciate your feedback. Regards If you want Peace, be prepared to fight for it ! :pilotfly:
Banzaiib Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 For me, it usually occurs around 350 kts and below... really yank that stick low and slow and i think you'll find them. I think the threshold for them should be lowered a tad (should happen more)
gizmo Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 Thanks for the reply Banzaiib, Yes i have to agree with you on that but even when i fly low & slow, I still dont get them.Strange!! If you want Peace, be prepared to fight for it ! :pilotfly:
Hiddenxreaper Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 If you are talking about wingtip vapor it is a known bug.
gizmo Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 If you are talking about wingtip vapor it is a known bug. Oh ok ...yes i was referring to that. Understand. Thank you If you want Peace, be prepared to fight for it ! :pilotfly:
Yurgon Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I was wondering on why my aircraft does not have the contrail on the wing like other aircraft do even with a tight turn? AFAIK, contrails should appear at high altitude, depending on atmospheric conditions. To quote Wikipedia: The combination of water vapor in aircraft engine exhaust and the low ambient temperatures that exist at high altitudes allows the formation of the trails. I believe what you're referring to are different, yet related, phenomena, namely overwing vapor, leading edge extension vapor, and wingtip vortex respectively. I think DCS actually takes atmospheric conditions into account, so you'll be much less likely to see any of these in hot, dry air, whereas they're much more likely to be visible in humid air. I might be wrong, but the cloud settings in the mission probably have a pretty big impact in this regard. Long story short, try the same with a higher cloud setting, and you should probably get some really nice effects during (tight) turns.
