Obsessing With Recovery

Ever since this module has been released I have been really getting my head into case 1. Learning all the numbers and trying to nail that pattern.

 

I came across this video and this really put all that into perspective. I'm now going no winds and the carrier at 27 knots. I think the pitching deck is simulated (am I right?) anyway. Keeping it flat from now on and practising practising!

 

I love hearing the Bolter! Bolter! Bolter! It's not just us :)

haha man same, I been doing recovery after recovery, other people here are shooting down migs i'm just trappin trappin trappin.

 

if you really want to see that deck move put on a rainstorm. then she really moves, if you pull up that LSO view (not the camera the platform view) you can actually see the carriers deck up and down up and down.

Yeah, you can *SEE* the anxiety on the aviators' faces. They're smoking and joking, but you can TASTE the anxiety. This is one of my favorite vids.

The really big thing that stands out to me is that the CAG swaps for a junior pilot for the most dangerous mission.

This is cRazy good fun, especially in VR...:thumbup: Man, I cannot wait for the next gen VR sets for just a little bit better res.

 

For awhile now I've just been doing laps for practice, started doing a quick little BARCAP stint, just in case any potential threats are lurking out there.

Yeah. The most fun part is we get to do it without getting really killed. It is an enormous task managing the aircraft under variable environmental conditions.

At this moment I feel more challenged to do a nice recovery CASE I than to go explode stuff and shot down planes down.

 

It’s more like: “Challenge me. I like it.”

That he did, but he also humbled all of them with his one take trap. And then stepping out of the A/C with a very innocent look on his face, greeting everyone. While thinking 'I'm the man!!!' :D

being that I lived this life and this jet for 10 years of my life I feel like I'm 17 again and working the decks. Love this module love this jet. Being in Avionics and Armament I have a headstart on a ton of how the Hornet works. flew the real dome sim a few times in the early 90s and other than having a cockpit there this is 1000% better in every way.. amazing that we have this technology at home. VA-105, VFA-105, VFA-106 and VS-27 87-97 US Navy

Nothing at all wrong with that :thumbup: I always try to learn to master the intricacies of flying an airframe before I even consider learning to fight in it.
