Grippen7 Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 (edited) Hi all, See my request to ED below. Many forum threads request for this update change. Please post you reactions below if you have the same problem and want also that this will be changed. Best regards Grippen7 Dear Andrey, Please see the following two links for our requests about DCS World updates. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=204522&highlight=Grippen7 and https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=207494&highlight=Grippen7 Many users have the same problem. The updates are too big and we have to swap other software temporarily to other drives to give room for the DCS World update installation files. After the installation is finished we have to copy all software back again and this is not good for our SSD's because it wears them down because of all the extra write actions. Also the update stops because the space we made free was not enough and we have to free up several times more space. This is not a convenient way of updating your DCS World software. Please read the two forum post and change the update system. This can be done by make it possible to store the DCS World installation files on an other Hard Disk drive. In my own situation I have a M2 SSD fast drive for DCS World and X-Plane 11 both fit on this drive and there is even room for updates but not for the very large DCS World temp installation files. I wish I could store the DCS World update files on an other Hard Drive where I have more free space. Best regards Grippen7 Edited June 14, 2018 by Grippen7
Grippen7 Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Hi all, I got today a replay from ED with the following message: "We'll thinking about correction the intall routine." Later today I found this workaround and it worked for me. :-) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=212747 My working example: mklink /J "H:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads" "D:\DCS" Best regards, Grippen7
