Dear Testers!

Found in current release DCS 2.5.2.18521 Update 4

On starting up in Hornet, if you release parking brake, INS alignment is getting into 99.9 error state with INS ATT error. Tested in two servers, multiplayer. Here is video about it

However, I can imagine this being a feature, not a bug. The plane can actually make a small movement if playing with brakes, spoilingthe alignment but it would be a quite harsh one :)

Hope I could help! Cheersa!

I also noticed the 99.9 quality INS alignment just yesterday after updating. But I thought it was related to me forgetting to put it from align to on. I couldn't make it align or reset later anymore, was stuck at 99.9.

By the way, after watching your video, I really really really hope that ED's gonna make the DDI font on the AMCPD readable. Currently it just is not which is the main reason for me not to use the colored map at all.

I also experience the same effect. Just to note this was happening before this Wednesday's patch too. Not sure if this is what is supposed to happen, but for now if I want to use alignment I start it as soon as the right engine starts and remember not to touch the parking brake.

It is required that the parking brake be set during alignment.

The parking brake set signal is required by the INS during alignment. When

operating on internal electrical power, make sure the parking brake is set.

I always set the parking brake when sitting on the ground or deck. Still had the 99.9 thing and couldn't do an alignment anymore. I'll try to reproduce it.

I always turn the parking brake off (bad, I know) as soon as I climb in and begin my start up (got tired of throttling up trying to figure out why it's not moving just to slap my forehead with a 'DoH!) and have had no issue with my INS aligning in the 90 seconds

I think it happens if you disengage the parking brake WHILE it’s still aligning.

That has always been the case for me. So now I just keep it on until the alignment finishes, and then, I disengage the PB. That’s my procedure now...don’t know if it’s real though, it just works. I assume it will work the same if you start with the parking brake off, as long as you don’t mess with it while the alignment is in progress.

By the way, when that happens...is there a way to reset the INS so it can start from the beginning? It’s not a problem for me anymore, but I’m just curious...I tried shutting down and restarting the hornet, but the INS alignment stays blinking at 99.9
