works for me.. Bonjour is only needed if you wanna use the ipad portion.. maybe it wont install unless its there? so try installing it ;-)

Bonjour is Apple's location service/zero conf protocol. So if simvc is using Bonjour to find it, you'll need Bonjour for Windows.

Hey Maestro72x,

Based on your recommendation, I thought I would give simvc a try before diving into Helios and Capt Zeen.

It appeared to be simple to setup, but I must have done something wrong. The display setup screen looked great with nice crisp images, but when I run DCS, the exported displays are blurred and unreadable.

To show you the problem, attached are pictures: (1) of my configuration, (2) the simvc display setup screen, (3) the resulting DCS FA-18C with simvc , (4) closeup of blurry left DDI, (5) closeup of blurry right DDI, and (6) closeup of blurry AMPCD. It appears like the export is writing the image two or three times but shifting a pixel each time. I have repeated the setup several times without affecting the problem.

Do you have any idea of whats wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks Panther. That helped, but the images are still blurry, but more readable. I tried reducing the settings further (i.e. 0.3 and 0.1), but noticed that began effecting the DDIs and AMPCD on the main screen.

I couldn’t find a clear clean value, but it did help from previous settings. I suspect it will improve as the Hornet develops.

Does anyone know if it's possible to export the HUD?

I've used Capt Zeen's solution to export the various displays as follows:

Extractions.png

Looking at the HUD's AVQ_32 init.lua, it looks generally similar to the other displays' configuration. So I added these lines:

-- Capt Zeen mod

dofile(LockOn_Options.common_script_path.."ViewportHandling.lua")

try_find_assigned_viewport("F18_HUD")

--

And put an 'F18_HUD' viewport in my monitors file but no luck in seeing it.

I'm wanting to extract the HUD as I've done previously using FSX / SuperBug. Here's my 'real' HUD using a first-surface mirror and teleprompter mirror, with a projected screen in the background:

Turns out it is possible:

HUD.png

I got it to work by changing this line in AVQ32_init.lua:

--indicator_type = indicator_types.COLLIMATOR

indicator_type = indicator_types.COMMON

As seen above, it does not seem to have disturbed the HUD in the cockpit view.
