Absolutely superb campaign.

Unfortunately I missed where to see my score for mission 16. So looks like I will have to fly them all again....!

The immersion factor in this campaign is superb. I really felt like these guys were my buddies meeting in the o club every evening!

Many thanks for your hard work!

Regards

David

Really enjoyed this campaign.

Your work really shines with the great briefings, voiceover work, and interesting missions.

Can't wait for what you do in the Persian Gulf map! I'm looking forward to a more wide open war with lots of stuff going on around (other packages going other places, LOTS of targets, etc). Both of your Mirage campaigns have been kind of small scale focused affairs, I'd like to take the Mirage into something even bigger!

With some guidance through the forums I finished the campaign. Despite some frustrations, I really enjoyed it. All the radio traffic and different characters really make it come alive. Only in the last mission did I realize how many people had contributed some lines to the campaign. I had not even recognized Ralfidude's voice even though I have watched most of his DCS videos. I did not mind the transit flight to the ranges. Nevada looks great and this campaign has made me want to go there and see the desert for myself.

The sad thing is that now both Mirage 2000C campaigns are finished. The Mirage 2000 was the first DCS aircraft for me. I am still not sure as to what the next aircraft will be for me.

Really enjoyed the campaign and despite a couple of trigger bugs I found it quite enjoyable I felt it brought out all aspects of the Mirage. In terms of complexity and satisfaction it was one of the best I have flown. And to second what has been said above, the voice overs really make it come alive.

Finally there !

So first thing first... last mission score was 80 !

I would like to thank you Baltic Dragon for two main positive points about your campaign:

1. Very immersive, full of live, complete, with lots of challenges and really creative missions.

2. Excellent support on all questions or possible bugs, it really tells how much you put your passion into your work !

Now the little glitches I encountered here or there were possibly not the fault of how the missions were done. You really added lots of complexity to each mission, the price to pay is that at some key points, we are very dependent on what the AI does (or does not!). I had some issues at some point and well... a little frustrating (I admit I had to bypass a misison where Tornados would never leave their anchor point for example).

I can only recommend this campaign to all who have finished the initial M2000C Caucasus campaign and who are looking for another challenge.

My best regards and thank you again !

My second Red Flag in the Charlie.

Apart from a couple of missing approach calls and minor trigger glitches (not seen in the first Red Flag I flew back in October 2018, possibly due to DCS updates?) the overall experience was the same.

A thoroughly immersive experience the second time around. It does DCS credit. It does the Mirage team credit. it does Baltic Dragon credit. It will test the pilots ability to fly the Charlie properly and earn your Red Flag "patch".

That last mission departing for home, actually left me with a lump in my throat! It felt that real!

Best regards

David

For some reason I got score 0 from the last mission? Or result was 100.

Anyway a great campaign, I loved the way it fit into the campaign that came with Mirage. It was great fun. I would happy to buy a segual that goes to Gulf for real and continues the story :)

I would like to say that this campaign was the best one i even played.

The best impressions i found in voice covers. Really good job guys.

Next thing was very well constructed random missions.

I really enjoyed playing this campaign and for sure i will finish this one second time.

Baltic Dragon -> Well done

Looking forward for next campaigns.

Very solid campaign, great value and best of all good voice acting. Only minor downside was the longish ingress/egress flights, but hey, that's why the time compression exists and understandably the whole red flag setting necessitates it.

Great campaign. Between this one and the default Mirage 2k campaign, this is my new favorite module. I picked up your A-10 campaign at the same time, but I'm having too much fun in the Mirage to try it (I will eventually). I even created an account on the forums just to post this feedback.

The only issues were the same as others have reported, mainly AI stupidity, but it was never enough to pose a problem. And those f$ing Gazelles. Poor Max.

Is this campaign updated to reflect the latest updates to the Mirage? Thinking about buying it.

Is this similar in "style" to the M-2000 default campaign? I love that campaign...

Hey Chris. I intend to work on updating this campaign in the next week or two (I'll have to fly it all so may take a moment). I definitely will need to change some of the dialogue lines (like the one where pilots complain about not having NVGs) and do general cleaning up. Having said that I think it should be working OK out of the box.

Allright that settles it. Buying this one. How can you go wrong really, with Baltic content anyway right? :)

EDIT: Also getting the A-10C Enemy Within 3.0 as soon as the updated A-10C is released. Wanna enjoy that campaign with a new fresh nice looking A-10C :)

Baltic Dragon,

I finished the campaign a few minutes ago and I loved it !

I really enjoyed it and wanted to thank you for your hard work. :D

This was the 3rd campaign of yours that I play and my favorite one until now (just before giving "Coup d'Etat" a try).

The only minor negative thing I might have found is not on you but... the AI sometimes really is dumb as hell, and it can be quite irritating (M14 an 15 are good examples). Anyway, I continue to cross fingers hoping that solutions will be found someday :)

Except that, everything was pretty much perfect: the custom ATC system, the interactions with other flights, all the voiceovers and the little backstories it creates (especially with poor Max :joystick:), the variety of missions, etc.

I particularly enjoyed the quality of the briefings and the kneeboards: it felt as if I was in a real jet fighter flying towards a war mission.

I think my favorite missions were the jamming one and the DRYAD one: both different but both amazing.

I very much look forward to flying your next campaign

I did finish the campaing just now and I have to say, that this was the most ambitious DCS campaign I have played so far. There really is a lot of stuff going on, very immersive.

I had a feq minor issues with triggers or the AI not working (Target illumination did not work and the deflector tried to land, but did not manage to do so :D ) but alltogether, I think this is the most fun I've had with a DCS campaing. Great mission design and very good dialogs, characters and voice acting :)

Unforutnately, I don't have control over the AI, which is outright dumb quite often. I suspect you just used the wrong frequency, pay close attention to the briefing card where you are told which channel to use (sometimes it is the initial one, sometimes different).

I'm still having trouble with this. I have double and triple checked that I am using the correct frequencies.

If I have the main on green preset 6 and use red preset 1 (freq 255.50) for Initial, I never get any wingman responses from any of my commands.

If I have Main on red preset 4 and Initial on green preset 1 (again, freq 255.50), I can get a few wingman responses once on station from commands such as radio on, ECM on. However, all engagement commands do not work (no responses at all), nor does the RTB command which I have needed to use when wingmen call bingo.

The mission data card says use Initial for wingmen commands. What am I missing?

Hi Baltic Dragon,

Just finished the campaign so here are a few thoughts on it.

First of all despite any "negative" comment that I may write hereafter, take it only as room for improvement, my global opinion is that it was a great campaign, as were Caucasus and the very short Coup d'Etat. I really felt part of a story, you make it live and it is really amazing to play. I remember the Georgian Hammer A-10C campaign a few years ago that felt very empty and just like a series of missions without a storyline.

The tons of voiceovers make it feel so real, great.

A few remarks though :

- In the briefing, you could give the QNH in hPa, it would avoid having to make the conversion from inHg before setting the altimeter,

- In the CSAR mission briefing (M12) you could clarify the DRYAD explanation. As many, I understood it the wrong way and your posts in the forum made it clearer, you could include those explanations in the briefing (how to choose the correct row for set numbers). Btw that mission was the best for me, poor weather condition, QRA, finding the guy, dodging a few R27 before shooting down the Fulcrums, it was intense.

- Speaking of mission 12, I would have let Max in the desert a few more days if I could. Honestly, it was fun in the beginning but after like 2 or 3 missions the character became a bit annoying to me, like overacting being the funny guy. No big deal though, and thanks to all the people giving their voices to the campaigns.

- Missions are long and complex, it feels realistic but the issue is that with this infinitely dumb AI you sometimes have to start again a mission from the begining after 1h30 of flight just because your dumb ally crashed into a moutain or dropped his GBUs 1 mile away from the laser spot (when he manages to spot ground targets, and when the JTAC doesn't lases sand instead of a vehicle !), so in the end you have to go with guns and mess with outrageously lethal Gazelles. Several times I wished there was some way to respawn just before entering the AO and avoid having to start again from the parking and do all the Sally corridor procedure etc. I know there is not much you can do about that :/.

- More ground pounding please ? ok just kidding it's the 2000C I know.

In the end, thank you for your work, I'd say I prefered Caucasus campaign because of the scenario, you feel part of something strange happening far from home, and hope that cavalry with come soon, reminds me of Operation Flashpoint 20 years ago lol. But Red Flag was more advanced on procedures, and variety of missions.

Damn I love the Mirage.

Modules : A-10C, F-15C, Mirage 2000C, F/A-18C, F-16C, F-86F, Su-33

I wish to comment that this is the best campaign I have played in DCS or any other flight sim. The voice overs are great, the custom ATC, the varied missions makes this an incredible campaign that I am even eager to play again. Makes you feel like you are in an alive environment.

That being said, unfortunately I ran into several issues, which are of course the fault of DCS, so not much to do there and thus they did not detract from my 100 review score.#

The issues I had were

In mission 14, after making the defector f16 land, i was low on fuel and tried to air refuel. I did manage to do it, but it took me 15 min. I proceded to RTB and was entering final at 1h50 min of flight time when suddenly I get a notification that the defector plane has been shot down, the red side win and all of the sudden the game crashes to desktop. I failed the mission so I had to skip it editing the lua file.

In mission 15 everything was going great until Max and wingman failed to shoot down a single gazelle and were shot down themselves. The instruction was to stay above FL19 and drop the laser bombs, but oh surprise moonbeam never bothered to answer my calls, I tried both on green and red radios on moonbeam freq and got nothing but silence.

Thus I thought about manually bombing the aaa, but I wasnt going to do it with two gazelles hanging around. So I shot magics at both of them, one hit and got a kill, the other one missed. I proceded to do a gun run on the remaining gazelle, got it on fire and I thought that was it, I then i bombed the AAA (after each hit, moonbeam bothered to call "good hits" but nothing else). At the end There was one remaining and wingman was being useless with his bombs, so I gunned down the last AAA and ran out of bullets.

Then I report the results and I get the order to shoot down the gazelles and I can ask for support from other flights, big surprise then when I switch to outside view that the gazelle that I gunned down managed to crash land and the crew survived in the skirt of a mountain, so now Im stuck without being able to trigger the next conversation because according to the game, that last gazelle is still alive, and since Im out of ammo, there is nothing I can do about it. So i proceded to RTB in silence. I did manage to pass the mission but I feel like I missed out on the debrief and voice overs, which is even sadder when there is no video of the mission that i know of in youtube. I wonder what caused moonbeam to not make an appearance. (same thing happened randomly in the last mission of the M2000c in caucasus map)

Honestly, I just learned to fly the mirage after the amazing experience of Baltic Dragon's F15 c campaign in Georgia and now I am tempted to learn to fly the A10 just for its campaign :megalol:

Looking forward for more of your campaigns Baltic Dragon,

Cheers

Thanks guys for your feedback!

Yeah, a lot of issues are linked to DCS, currently there are a lot of bugs, some of which I cannot really fix myself. I am aware of problems with Gazelles (there is something seriously wrong with their survavilability, and believe me - I built in as many safeguards as I could think of). Once I finish Raven One I should have two weeks before going for holidays and I plan to fix all the bugs I can in the existing campaigns.

Hi Baltic,

I just finished the Red Flag Campaign, after having completed the Vanillia one. I already told in few messages how much I loved the Vanilla, but man... Red Flag is even better!!

If Eagle Dynamic made my dreams come true by allowing me to fly fantastic aircrafts, you are really the "beating heart" of DCS by the quality of your campaigns (voice acting, scenario, technical aspect, comm management, and so many on...) You trully give DCS an incredible feel of immersion (moreover I fly in VR!!), everything feels so "living". Every mission is very different, I learnt something new on each sortie!

I haven't played the PG small campaign yet, but for sure I'll give it a try as soon as possible!

I also own the F/A-18 (as well as Persian Gulf and Supercarrier), so I can't wait to play Raven One... It will be an instant day one buy for me, because I want to enjoy it, and also because your hard and so good work really deserves our full support!!

Again, thank you so much, well done and see you very soon!

I just achieved this campaign. It was great !

A long, intense and really immersive one.

I enjoyed all the radio chitchats with the authentic anecdotes about Red Flag as well as the various kind of missions (day, night, escort, interception, bombing, ...) and the scriptwriting effort from start to finish (literally).

At the end of mission 16 (during the credits) I realized the voice actors work and the number of people involved.

Unfortunatly and as mentionned by others above, I'm a bit irritated by the AI being out of control ... especially when they are your ally. I can't count the times where my allies don't do what they have to do ...

Baltic Dragon, I know you are very busy with Raven One and AV-8B but I hope a SoH campaign of the same quality and lentgh ... some day ...
