Greetings… I have spent the past week setting up my A10C both for a cold/dark start and starting the tutorials. New to DCS, new to the A10C, experienced flight simmer. Hardware/software up and running, now need to begin to use hardware/software to begin training.

I bought and have installed TrackIR. It’s going to take these old eye’s and brain some effort, but I’m willing to giverago. Have my profile setup “kinda”;to a starting point at least. I’m sure I will fine tune as I learn, but I’ve reached a point I can actually start maneuvering in the pit.

This is after days of tweeking.

Did a search here using “TrackIR” going back 6 months and have not found the question discussed.

Question is: Reading and watching training I’m of the understanding it is desirable to assign one of my TM Warthog HOTAS buttons to the center function in TrackIR, and perhaps also the pause function, as these are used heavily.

So… which button is everyone using that won’t conflict with ac ops down the road? I’m thinking the pinky switch, which turns on nose wheel steering?? I can reassign that button to the numpad “-“ keyboard key I now have the TrackIR centering function set to and then find another key combo for turning on nose wheel steering. Nosewheel steering seems to be a good choice in my inexperienced brain, but there may be a better way to approach this.

Am I on the right “track ir” here?

Cheers,

I just go with the keyboard - 'Print Screen' for center and 'Scroll Lock' for pause. I like having 'actual' plane controls with my HOTAS & controllers but I suppose it's just a matter of choice.

I had flown a long time with really twitchy TrackIR settings and was using center & pause constantly. But after getting it properly tweaked (with the help of few You Tube videos) I find that I'm not using the center & pause that much anymore. Pause in particular seems to have very little use nowadays.

My current setting is pretty much what is described in this video and it works great:

Sorry I digressed a little bit. To your question - 'L/G Warning Silence' button on the throttle could be another choice, as its only minor audible inconvinience not having that button around doing it's original duty.

Make life easy use this https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116454

A long time ago I realised That there where guys that make profiles that are way way much better then what I can do And They are willing to share. Using the CTS is such a bliss you will bee amazed how god it is. So why on earth anyone want to fiddle with doing their own profile when you can get CTS for free and it´s so superior, so instead of fiddling you can start flying.

And ED again you must make CTS a sticky so people can find it easily.

If you study TARGET you will find that Thrustmaster incorporate many scrips that you can use, The fun thing is that many of these are scripts made by Home Fries for CTS.

Edit S3 + paddle will center TrackIR

I use the DOWN arrow on my keyboard to re-center TIR.

With my setup, it's like 3" to the left of my throttle and easy to tap.

You might consider using a modifier to add an additional function to an already dedicated button?

e.g. I use the Paddle as my modifier which has given me about eight more functions (Trigger Stage 1 cycles Gear, TMS, DMS and CMS tune radio presets FWD / AFT and change between Presrt and Manual pressing L / R)
