DCS2.5 Only Loads 55%

New user here. Installed 2.5 stable last week. All going well. Today I loaded the Georgian Hammer with CA mission to begin some training to compliment regular tutorials.

 

Upon restarting this evening DCS will only load 55% then hangs. Google search brought me to 2.5 Open Beta thread which instructed me (from BigNewy) to see YouTube video to do a command line cleanup and repair. Did those. Of note: had to run the programs from the command line in the task bar (run command) as following the video tutorial of left shift click and opening a command window did not work. Windows gave me error, so I ran the two cleanup and repair files in the bin folder from the command line. Both files executed. The repair did indeed go out to your servers and did a repair.

 

No effect. Still hangs at 55%.

 

Updated video drivers (1080ti).

The third thing to do after repair and cleanup commands (if they don't help) is always renaming/removing temporarily your Saved Games/DCS folder on system drive, letting the game built a fresh one and seeing if it runs OK.

 

If it does, you know something was fubared there and you will have some "narrowing down" to do. Do you mean the actual game starts, but it freezes on 55% of mission loading. Then it's most probably something corrupt in Saved Games/DCS/MissionEditor folder, quite a popular bug some time ago.

 

If it doesn't, post your game logs here (tutorial in BigNewy's signature as well) and maybe he'll find some further clues.

ART-J... Thank you for taking a moment to respond. That did the trick. Took a few minutes to rebuild, but the system came back up. Appreciate the help.

 

FYI. It was the loading of the game that hung at 55%.

Good. Start moving useful things from old folder back to new one then, one by one. A bit of a trial and error work ahead, as nobody knows what file was causing original issue. Config/Input sub-folder should be safe, it only contains controller assignments. I would also revert logbook.lua file from MissionEditor folder, as this is where your logbook and campaign data was stored. I think this one should be safe as well? Maybe some of your favourite missions and screenshots too... I'd dump the rest.
