Center TrackIR

Hi guys,

I was wondering the best key stroke for Re-centering Track IR,

in the F18 module?

 

I was using F12

but when using the communication menu,

F12 is needed to exit the menu and track IR just keeps centering

I use the RIGHT ARROW key (normally assigned to roll right (aileron)), if you are using a stick, the x axis will take care of the roll. It is pretty easy to find by feel on the keyboard.

Or you could use a joystick dx button, i recenter trackir quite often, so i need it on my hotas to avoid looking for the keyboard too much.

I prefer to use the enter key and the +key on my number keypad to turn TrackIR on/off and to center it. I prefer this key combination because 1) these keys are not used for much else in the rest of my set-up, 2) these keys are oversized on my keyboard (about twice the size of the rest of the keys), and 3) these two keys are located on the very far right edge of my keyboard, which makes them very easy to locate, even in a dim room, in the heat of a dogfight.

I personally use the press in on the mic switch on the warthog hotas, works a treat

I had a spare button on my TM Warthog and use that. I'm always re-centering my TrackIR so I figure it makes sense to have it on the HOTAS rather than keyboard.

Like the guys above I have mine on the Warthog HOTAS. I use the CMS push for center and the Mic push for pause.

You also dont need to press f12 to exit comms menu. Just press the comms key again. No point using redundant keys.
