Pipper inaccurate?

I'm not trying to be a negative nancy or anything. I'm just being honest.

If I remember my spreadsheet that I track the guns only BFM kills I've gotten on correctly, I've gotten something like 56 kills in the past 8 days in PVP servers.

I've had a nice stable effective functional pipper for something like 2/56 of those kills. I have video of all of those kills too, pipper not working.

I don't know what kind of input ED needs to hear to improve it, but the pipper doesn't work in PVP for it's intended purpose. I can't put the pipper on a bandit and effectively put rounds on target because 1) the radar in gun acq rarely ever gains lock on maneuvering targets and 2) when the radar does gain lock the pipper is jumping around all over the place and in general terms useless.

I don't know what parallel universe the people who say the pipper is great and works wonderfully are living in. Maybe they are only single player people that only dogfight AI or something, but in the real world multiplayer servers against hoomans that can maneuver way more unpredictably than AI the pipper in the Hornet is 99 times out of 100 worthless, generally you can't count on it working.

...but in the real world multiplayer servers...

hehe +1

OP, do you mean the gun pipper is jumping around because of latency + netcode in multiplayer? Did you try it in SP? What's your usual ping? Dogfight only server?

And yet, here we are.

I’ve had no issue with the gun piper, lock or not, multiplayer or not. And like it’s already said, the radar is far from finished, not even close.
