I am using a Logitech Webcam and TrackNoIR to implement HeadTracking into DCS World.

On the unfortunate side, I'm still trying to arrange an effective hat. I already have some challenges to a brightness based Tracking solution (PointTracker built into TrackNoIR), since I have a white wall that I cannot paint due to housing restrictions. To add to that, the brightness of my monitors depending on what's on the screen can greatly affect the quality of the tracking.

Right now, my current hat is literally just a black baseball hat with three large strips of copy paper. in the best conditions, it is perfectly suitable for movement left and right, and forward and backward, but looking upward and downward is not very functional at all.

I have two approximately 0.75x1.5 inch strips of copy paper taped to the brim of the hat, and a strip of copy paper of the same size at approximately the forehead. This was the best I could muster at the time, and I really don't want to try anything else without some advice.

I was thinking of using Reflective tape on the strips to improve visibility, but I'm not sure whether or not that would work or not. Overall, I'm looking for a baseball hat setup for under about $20 USD, since I don't want to be excessive about it. The hat itself CAN be completely dedicated to he role if need be.

If I were you I would look into a IR LED solution such as TrackHat, DelanClip or a DIY one. I am using a TrackHat myself and I have zero issues with FaceTrackNoir.

I was hoping that I didn't have to pay for that. Sure, it's of great build quality and they need to turn a profit, but I'm not all that willing to pay for approximately a DCS module to headtrack better. If I can find a way to track well and save a buck, I'm going to do that.
