Can someone give me an example of what I am shooting for in the axis tune? What does a good tune look like? Mine is set to slider and I either have no afterburner or the throttle is always on a bit so I have to apply constant brake on the ground. Using a G940 throttle.

what do you want to achieve? tune the curve to use Ab detents?

I am trying to get a full range of the throttle. I noticed I didn't have afterburner so I messed with the axis tune and now the throttle is slightly open all the time. I don't really understand what the line and black and red dots represent. I don't have a sight picture of what it should look like for a calibrated throttle.

I myself have always found axis setup and tuning confusing in this sim andso will watch this thread as well.

do you have the 'finger lifts' assigned to allow you to go into AB?

Using different throttle, but with the default, linear, corner to corner straight line, it's working fine for me.

First thing I suggest checking is if you have a full range of input from the throttle. Moving the throttle all forward and all back, does it go all the way to the edges?

I suspect you don't, because of what you posted.

If you have smooth input movement from the throttle but it doesn't go all the way to the edges, I suggest you start by checking if it needs calibration. Otherwise you can make it act right by tweaking the values. The idea is that you need the full range on the output, so I you need to be able to make the 'thing' hit (I think) top and bottom by moving the throttle.

If the input is not smooth, or maybe even if it is, it may help to clean pots (potentiometers) in your throttle - google for G940 cleaning pots or some such.

I have that option deselected. I do get afterburner now. I am just trying to find the right balance. It was fine at first but I had to reinstall Windows and the calibration is off.

I have full range of motion physically but on the axis tune default it only covers the middle 3rd of the area until I adjust saturation x and y to 80'ish and if I adjust the curve I can get the black square to one end but not the other. The pots definitely suck because they make jumping movements.

Find the recommended WH curve, it seems to work well for my T.16000M TWCS throttle.

I got it fixed with 53x saturation and 0y. Unchecked slider and 0 curve. The line goes all the way across on the initial menu.

Does your stick have throttle and rudder wheels...if so, these could be affecting your in-game throttle default zero position...if not try setting a deadzone of 4 to start and move it up little by little to minimize the zero drift...perhaps even cancel it
