VR Shaders mod for better VR experience

Apparently not with the last Beta Update; same problem here only on Syria map even with the Hotfix

Well, I’m on Syria and the latest beta. Hotfix applied (and I’ve just reapplied it to test). No problems at all.

wheres this hotfix at? had a few errors loading in on Syria earlier, havent flown in about a month.

You aren’t running the hot fix version. Or you have applied the full version and the hot fix… just apply the hot fix, you will need to run repair

No problems here on the latest beta either, and yes this does increase framerate. That's why we're all here! 😀

It’s likely not “stuck” but it might take several goes to compile all the shaders, best option download the server mission offline, load it offline, and let the shaders compile, then go into the mission online

Seems like something changed in the shaders in the latest Open Beta. After the update to 2.7.7.14727 Open Beta I'm getting this error message when using the (otherwise excellent) VR Shaders mod:

I get the same error message with the original Kegetys mod and speed-of-heat's clear water variant as well as the hotfix for 2.7.6.

per users' reports the water shaders were changed. This wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. Now the water has a lot more cloud reflections, etc.. This is probably the reason behind the errors.

@Kegetysmight have to fix this , I will try to hack it out , but my usual brutal approach applies

so i can't seem to find a fix for the full shader set, nor the clear water but the IC pass shaders seems to work as does the simplex shaders

So.....were these files used for "cheating" online too? I'm really lost for words as to why ED locks files that improve the user experience after tweaking because the base game lacks the functionality (or in extreme cases is completely bugged). In this case, that functionality being VR performance.

Yes this is really bad. Crazy drop in frames and lost for words. Why would ED do this?

I can think of a couple of reasons:

- to see what happens, this is beta…

- integrity/stability, it will likely lead to more stability of their code base, modding is always done at risk, and Ed has a very clear position that mods should go in saved games..not core games.
