Steak Eagle vs P-42

Recommended Posts

The P-42 took the streak eagle's records back in the day. Mind you the differences weren't extreme - just on the order of a few seconds.

The F-15E with the 229's can probably take all of the P-42's records without modification, and the F-22 will basically blow anything out of the water more likely than not, in that respect.

Nope, still classified. On the other hand, according to definitely not classified info ... it was accelerating vertically in a climb with a combat load - the pilot had to throttle back to prevent going through mach 1 (civilian limitations) but the airspeed did not start to drop off until some some 25000', IIRC. This should give you an idea ;)

Oh yeah. I'd like one 'Steak Eagle' dinner, please.
