Hog_No32 Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Hi all, reading the release notes of todays update I am wondering if fix for the issue regarding ice skating on the deck is included or not. Previous posts from Wags indicated the issue has been resolved by devs. Hopefully it was just omitted from the changelog by accident. I can‘t try it out tonight myself, that is why I am asking. Thanks.
bigalsunit Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Didn't get fixed on my end. Max speed for the carrier around 22 knots, no wind. Any faster than that and the Hornet is still skating.
=Panther= Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Bummer, I was hoping that would be one thing that was in this patch. Oh well, they are still progressing though so can't complain. I'malso waiting for this, but until then, having my boat going 27 kts but i eitehr only do tounch and go which doesn't matter for the skating, or for some reason, tonight, even when trapping on my Released Version as open beta downloads, i haven't sakted once out of 4 traps... go figure :)
HawkDCS Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Its better then it was but its not fixed. I had 5 KTS headwind and 25 KTS Carrier speed and was sliding once I was perpendicular to the wind. Rig: 5960X @ 4.5GHZ 32GB 3000Mhz DDR4 Titan XP Dell 3415W 21:9 Thrustmaster Warthog
Hog_No32 Posted July 19, 2018 Author Posted July 19, 2018 (edited) Thanks for your replies. What a pitty the fix didn‘t made it into yesterday’s update. I can work around it for takeoff by starting on the catapult („start on runway“) instead of a deck („ramp“) start ... even though for the immersion I really prefer taxiing to the cat. But it is a real issue when I want to land and then refuel/rearm and launch again. Sometimes it takes me 3 attempts to bring the jet in the correct position for the cat shuttle to be connected, messing with other jets on the deck. Edited July 19, 2018 by Hog_No32

The spin mostly occur on my side,. when moving and slowing down, when it does, i apply brake, let the spin finish, then reaply throttle while keeping wheel breaks on enough so it start moving and releasing breakes but careful when breaking not to apply too much pressure on them to restart spinning, was able to make about 4 traps before heading to bed last night without much spin, but yeah annoying, but we got to deal with it, got to admit on my side the deck is emplty cuz adding stuff on the Stennis drains half my FPS, so i rather have a naked lady so it make smoving around more easy. :)
