I would like to edit the default avionics. :helpsmilie: For example, if I load an Instant Mission for the F-18 Hornet the right DDI is always set to Attack Radar. Even on Ground Pound Missions. I always change mine to HSI. Another example is the default Altimeter Warning at 5k ft. Among other things that are personal tastes. I have searched high & low for this info. PLease help.

Which Directory/Files need to be edited to change this?

Thanks in advance

I think that there is a "Prepare Mission Mode' in the mission editor. Under the Flight menu.

I would like that too in Instant Action and Fast Mission. By the time I set up, I'm shot down.

Some of those fast missions I modify, whoever builds those mission I swear they are trying to kill us in sim real quick, give us a few seconds...:D

Open the editor and click open, then click on the F-18C left hand nav menu and modify the mission. Save the modified mission to MY missions so it doesn't get replaced with updates.

Play this new mission by going to "missions" on the main menu, then My Missions.

Hi David, yes I do edit the missions. But it’s the chore of having to reset some things in the cockpit. I always have to turn up the panel lights (dark when sun is in front of you) and Aim-9 cooling for example, reset certain DDIs, etc. Would be nice to be able to configure the default cockpit setup whenever the plane starts in mid-flight or at least the sim should do that for us in fast mission. Having no default appropriate weapons in create fast mission is also quite illogical. It’s not ‘fast’ if one has to go in to the editor to get something as fundamental as weapons.

I wonder if you could do this as a command in the mission editor, similar to how autopause is set during training missions.

I don't mind running through the menus to learn what's what for now.

Hopefully down the track when the dust settles ED can build out a Data Cartridge? Would be nice when setting up mission. It's in the wish list thread.
