[FIXED] Deck Sliding

Movement around the deck does indeed seem to be much better.

Am still experiencing stuttered movement/shifting across the deck when changing fuel load/weapons, this becomes more pronounced with the carrier turning.

Is the minor sliding when initiating taxi still occurring? I never had issues with sliding while stopped or while taxiing, but when applying power to initiate taxi I would always experience just enough sliding to mess up my catapult alignment.

This is still happening, and it's connected to the deck pitching / banking. The higher the waves, the more you will notice it.

It affects all modules and all ships in DCS, same problem with harrier on Tarawa, or landing an Mi-8 on any ship.

Hope they can fix this too.

Glad to hear it guys, thanks for all the help.

As for the little 'jerky' movements, let me know if you see issues that affect your gameplay and provide tracks and such if needed. I have seen that occasionally as well, but not affected any gameplay for me so far.

I was able to taxi around the deck in hurricane force winds with relative ease. It was a little jerky trying to line up on the cat but nothing too hard to manage. Thanks for fixing!

Have my carrier group at 28kn now, no problems with taxiing at all.

But I still have seen the wingtip vapours and found another issue. I couldn't get my shut down Hornet chocked because of "unable to comply" which normally just happens when you move or have more thrust than idle on the engines and parking brake not set.

Thanks guys, I will check it out, could be that the sim still sees the Hornet moving, F2 generally shows the Hornet moving at the same speed as the carrier even when you are stopped. I'll see if its reported or not. The wing vapors are reported, just not fixed yet.

Solved the problem for me . . . 11 knots wind, 21 knots on the carrier . . . finally can taxi to cat #4 without 'going over the edge' . . wing vapors we can handle till fixed!

Thanks NineLine/ED . . can't wait for the next update!

I am still sliding on the deck while rearming my aircraft. Carrier speed was 15 kts and wind 12 kts.

I noticed this too. No sliding on deck at all except i am rearming. It's just a little slide/jumping starting with the rearming and ends after the message "Rearming complete" - to be precise, after that message it slides/jumps once before everything is fine again, until you start rearming again. I run DCS Open Beta with the latest Patch.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is in SinglePlayer.

That tiny rearming hop isn’t the sliding we had before this last patch. Deck sliding was a kind of weather cocking motion where the jet would yaw on the spot.

On the MP flight deck there is always going to be little warps here and there while someone’s wife starts watching Netflix in the other room or someone from Australia spawns in.

I am amazed at how great the NetCode is with DCS F/A-18C. Before DCS 2.5 Carrier ops in multiplayer were fraught with aircraft lagging about and hitting each other.

Now we can fold our wings and park right next to each other with no problem. I would be blown away if it gets better than it is right now.

(somewhat unrelated, but helicopters still slide on deck on any ship as well. Is the sliding issue tied to the aircraft, or the ship, or something else? I had hoped that this would be a fix for all airframes on all ship decks)

It might be based on individual aircraft. Is there a bug report on the forums you can point me at?

Nope; I can make one when I get around to it. Thanks.
