Hi guys

Question about the conditions setting up triggers. Do unit altitude higher then or lower then option altitude in meters or feet? or does the conditions for altitude even work at all.

I'm having issues where triggers are activated well above certain altitude conditions. I've tried both options using feet in meters as well as feet and getting the same results.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Cheers Wood

Speed will depend on what type of measurement units you have set in the game (Kts, kmh). Altitude is meters apparently but I am not 100% sure about it. I know it was speed m/s and meters before.

I recently discovered that if you're testing over the ocean, you must also factor in the depth.

Wow that's interesting. Thanks for the info. I'm assuming you find the depth by placing the courser it the area?

Thanks again for the reply guys

If so thats a bug. Any specific map or location on a given map where you've seen that. Sea level should be 0 and the game is capable of having negative numbers for that value.

@Zayets as far as speed/altitude you set for units, trigger zone size etc. this is true, but that specific trigger, ALTITUDE HIGHER/LOWER THAN has always been in meters on my end unless something has changed recently.

@Grimes This is certainly true for the altimeter measurements in aircraft and the view on the F10 map, but in the Persian Gulf, East of the harbor near Al Qadisa you'll find two tankers a couple of miles off the coast. The last mission I was working on required SAR pilots to land or hover over those tankers to evacuate their crew, I found I had to account for about 20m more than I should have based on the in-game measurement I took from the F11 free camera view while over the boat. :dunno:

EDIT: Looks like UNIT'S SPEED is in knots these days. Good to know whatever the water issue was appears to be resolved as well. I'll revisit the trigger in my other .miz and see if it works at the correct height now.

Weird. Using height lower than MSL and AGL triggers were both returning true at the correct altitude I had set. Maybe its a specific tanker or something else.

Good day gents.

Last night I edited my missions to having the trigger zones indicate altitude in meters. After testing it it seem to work as it shouldn’t when meeting the conditions. I did however base the altitude measured from the surface of the water and found that zero was the reference.

I’ve also placed two more triggerzones that have two conditions that need to be met on altitude limits been met.

Cheers Wood
