This aircraft flew and landed here 43 years ago approximately and has been here ever since.

I sat in it in 74/75 when there were just 3 old wartime hangers very dimly lit and almost not heated with no staff around at all.

 

I recall the "no floor" of the Spitfire had me shaking my head back then. I climbed around in a Lancaster bomber back then as well.

 

I couldn't talk the lad into letting me even open the canopy but he allowed me inside the ropes for a pic.
