Landed gear up to see how that would go... lots of sparks shooting out the back as the tail ground along the asphalt. Nice effect.

 

Selecting the gear down after she slid to a stop resulted in the plane bouncing into the air and flipping onto its back in a weird glitchy, somewhat amusing spasm. ;)

I've reported the weirdness with lowering the gear after a belly landing, thanks!

I don't think that the damage model is completed yet since I can land and takeoff again with the retracted landing gear and during knife edge flight the whole wing can slice through the ground without causing any drag or damage.

No, there are still some early hints that the DM needs love, like strange parts coming off of it and such.

Place a Yak-52 into the air and head straight for the ground.

 

You can also take off and land with retracted landing gear without the prop getting destroyed from spinning into the ground.

 

Makes for fun low level flying though ;)

No change in Damage Model - It looks like it is still a work in progress.  - Glad it is only $20 when on Sale.

 

The POSITIVE side of me hopes that the damage model will be updated when the Warbirds Damage Model is Finalized in 2021!
