Engine Power Confusion

I was looking at the chart in the manual and just couldn't understand vital parts of it since I want to know at which settings to run the engine at.

 

Could anyone please enlighten me what "pressure in mmHg of б (cyrillic b)" means?

 

By the way it is totally impossible for me to get that low RPM at those MPs given for cruise.

Easy setting is 82% RPM and throttle as required but usually less than 800 mmHg, this is good for aerobatic and formation flying.

 

High Speed Cruise is 70% RPM and whatever she'll give you for MP, oversquare is OK

 

Economy cruise is 65-ish %, mine won't govern down below that, and it gets slow

 

I cruise at 70% and near WOT for best economy while still seeing 120-130 kts at ~14GPH of Avgas and 1-1.5 qts of oil/hr, 6,000-9,500', plan on 90 minute/160-170nm legs

Keep in Mind its early access, things tend NOT to work as intended first few decades after a module release.

@Eldur I think I found it. I looked into the manual on avialogs, the power settings are indicated with regards to ambient pressure, so I assume the russian B is for "Bapo" = "Baro".

 

 

PS : I can't seem to drop the rpm down to low enough rpms for the cruise settings. Off the top of my head I think it only drops to 80% rpm.

Same here. I can't get the RPM below 70% at speeds above 220km/h.

That makes sense now... also found an English manual in a thread here where it said (excessive) which wasn't any easier to get. And a German one that just has the original table, but with a nice error in translation, it sais the pressures are hpa, but absolutely the same numbers

 

Great to have some practical numbers from a real Yak-52 driver as well

Ignore Maximum as they are from a M14PF engine. FF are also PF numbers. All the others are applicable to the M14P
