Hey guys,

So tonight I launched for some A2A practice with my squad. When fencing in I noticed that the radar’s b sweep stayed stuck to the left side of the RH DDI. Radar was on operate, SIL off, 2B scan, 140*. I tried cycling the radar off/on several times. TDC cursor would move but both elevations read along the lines of -55 for top and bottom. Also when I rolled the aircraft, the b sweep would move slightly then back to the left. Only thing which I can remember doing differently is that I accidentally tapped the weapon select hat switch while on the ground and the radar was in standby. I don’t have a track unfortunately.

What was your radar elevation set to? It sounds like it was pointed all the way down.

I’ve got mine mapped to an axis, and without a small dead zone it tends to wander upwards until it goes all the way, then I get similar behaviour to what you are reporting. Resetting it to middle elevation solves the problem for me.

A temp solution is to cycle through weapons select switch, I have success selecting AMRAAM and then back to previous. Seems to work getting the radar to return to sweeping.

Thanks for the replies. Now that you mention it, I guess the elevation could have been bottomed out but would that prevent the b sweep from moving at all?

Panther, unfortunately that did not work as I tried it.

The radar B sweep indeed gets stuck into the far left position quite often, and this is how you can get it to work properly. You might have to swap back-and-forth a few times though: it works for me.

I just experience this issue myself. A friend experienced this issue yesterday.

I was using an older Through the Inferno mission that I added F-18's to and was on my second plane spawn. I acquired lock through auto acquisition and after splashing the F-5 and undesignating my target I experienced the issue. The radar started to work a bit after but I couldn't get it out of ACM. I fixed by turning off air to air mode and then turning it back on.

Not sure what caused it or if it has something to do with my target having been auto acquired or undesignating on a target that is in bits and pieces.

Had the same, radar was at -99 - -99. Thanks to the relative axis which I doubt is realistic. Wasn't perfectly centered when I started my run.

I’ve been seeing this intermittently still.
