I have got a question concerning behaviour of russian SAM-8.

I have build a simple SEAD mission flying AJS-37 Viggen. Armament is Rb-75 (Maverick) and countermeasures. 9A33 "Osa" SA-8 and ZSU Shilka are defending Kobuleti Airbase.

I played this mission several times succesfully without an issue. Today i was surprised by the ability of the SAM-8. The SAM is able to track and shoot down Rb-75.

Now i am not sure if this is technically possible or not. Is the real SAM-radar able to detect, track and destroy such a small target, or is it a bug concerning Rb-75 or SAM8?

Best regards

Leo

This is definitely not a Heatblur bug, because the SA-8 can shoot down all kind of missiles, not just RB-75s. So it either is a bug on EDs side or it is an intended feature. I don't know about the SA-8s missile defence capabilities IRL, so I can't say anything about how realistic it is in DCS, but I would recommend to ask this question in the general DCS forum, because here it is definitely not in the right place ;)
