hansangb
Hansangb, did you get yours? Does the pimax 5/8k mount work? I opted for the generic mount. I'm getting the Reverb soon so I figured I'd go with the generic one. hansangb
I believe I included both the Generic and Pimax, Let me know if I didn't. Miles EDIT: I see the extra mount. Thanks Miles. Question though. When you charge the HMD sensor, it lights up telling me that it's charging. But when I plug in the finger units, they don't light up. Is that the way it's supposed to be? Thanks. Use the enclosed USB cord and run it along side your VR Headset cables and secure it with the enclosed wire toes ties. I am writing updated directions now. Zeroskills
The Oculus Rift S has a tracking camera where you show the head mounted unit being placed. Would it be possible to mount it to the bottom of the VR headset instead?
MilesD
I am hoping for some reviews from the new recipients of the PointCtrl. :music_whistling: I sent out 2 units to start. Number One and I are working through a few issues, and number 2 is waiting until I finish up the instructions today. Tester 1 Issue 1) Broke FCU case while adjusting strap (see pic) Solution: I already added cross sectional material the point of failure and I will add FCU strap adjustment to the instructions. Issue 2) Stray IR light interfering with sensor (see pic) HMS is affected by the same IR interference issues as Track IR Solution: Already included instruction on how to conduct an IR survey of the room with the HMS sensor. Ambient sunlight and incandescent lights are a significant source of the IR wave length of 850nm. Future firmware updates may include a HMS sensitivity adjustment on the GUI. Issue 3) Lack of instructions making calibration procedure difficult. Solution: Posting new calibration procedures today. Issue 4) Tester 1 is a Marine. Solution: More pictures in the instructions, possibly convert to cartoon images. Have his wife make all FCU adjustments. Tester 2 Tester 2 is waiting for tester 1 deal with all the crap going wrong. Actually Tester 2 evaluating the instructions and only proceeding with what has been documented so far, and is providing feedback to improve the instructions.:book: Note to Testers, Please feel free to share your positive and negative experience so far. It would have been helpful if I had the instructions completed before you received your units. It turns out its much more difficult to talk through the set-up than I expected. Thanks for your patience. MilesD
The Oculus Rift S has a tracking camera where you show the head mounted unit being placed. Would it be possible to mount it to the bottom of the VR headset instead? Great question Zeroskills, I asked Mr Wags if the upper camera was only for controller tracking above your head, but he was under NDA. I wouldn't recommend mounting the HMS underneath because of line of sight issues on the side panels. I am looking at several options if the upper camera is required, or for DCS users want to use the Rift controllers above their head.
