I use trackIR. What I want to ask is whether it can be used without VR. For example, if I bring trackIR with me, can I use it?

Hey David,
A few guys  static mount the HMS above there heads even with there forehead. Its not optimal, but it does work. I keep meaning to do some testing with Track IR and the HMS mounted to a headset. You should be able to tune the Tack IR movement so the cursor movement "somewhat" stays on the control you are pointing at when you move your head.

Contacted Miles as, like a few others, I ordered back in Dec 2020. Excellent support from Miles and the problem was sorted within  days and my order is now in transit.

in the recent year I switched to a Quest2 and the HMS base plate was for my Quest headset I had before. This HMS base does not fit well on the Quest2. I recently got a 3D printer. Would it be possible to share the STL for the Quest2 HMS base? If not, no problem and I will buy it.

Hi Miles D, would you be still a year behind in fulfilling the order?  I ordered in Nov 2021 and admittedly it’s late compared to most people on the thread but should I basically forget about this until late 2022?

Just got this last week and I love it! Such a simple solution to a complicated problem. Nothing like actually reaching for the gear or hook handles... and all the other switches or knobs that are too tedious to map/memorize for each module. I saw a video on a GUI interface he was working on. But the firmware page on the website says it's for V1 only "do not use for V2" Does anyone have it or know the status?

PS I had to recalibrate for Xplane, but sort of got it to work. But the resolution is not as fine as in DCS for some reason. Can't get it to work yet in MSFS. Anyone had any luck with that?

As far as I know, each sim interacts with the mouse in VR in a particular way. DCS is the sim the device is tuned for especifically.

Just filled out my form!  I was a little worried about waiting almost a year to get these.  But the Form Reply indicated a goal of 60 days!!   I'm hoping this is correct and things are speeding up with the new resin cases..

Well... I hate to be THAT guy but, I pre-ordered Jan of 2021 and I got the same "60 days" email reply.

Please tell me we’re still not waiting the better part of a year for these.  There is no universe, covid or not, where that is acceptable.  More of a problem is that nowhere when ordering is this mentioned or explained.  The only communication of delivery time is 60 days in a form email when you order.

I understand your frustration but it's what it is. 

It's also worthy mentioning the stated delivery time is a goal, not a fact.

I get your frustration, please be aware, I do not accept any money until the orders are within a week of shipping. I am retired, and PointCTRL was just supposed to be an interim device for me, and a few others that were following the development until something better came along.

Because of the continued interest, I have been making an investment to increase production. We should start making good progress on the backorders very soon.

Thank you for making me aware of the automated email response with the stated goal of "shipping orders within 60 days". I had forgotten that was not updated, and it has been removed. The emailed response now points to where the latest shipping information can be obtained, both in our PointCTRL Discord, and here in my sig.

Hey Miles, love the device! My problem is it seems that the hmd/fcu doesn't move the cursor. I've tried reset, restarting PC, etc with no luck. When I put the hmd in setup, it does move the cursor in the 4 motion. Any ideas?

Hey Zoney,
If it was initially working, it's probably just a bad calibration. If it picks up another IR source during calibration it won't work at all. I would start with a factory reset.

1) Hold the  "Set-Up" button down.
2) Press and release the "Reset" button while continuing to hold down the "Set-Up" button.

Release the "Set-Up' Button when the cursor begines to move from left to right across the center of the screen, signifying a factory reset.
