LCtrl+Tab is totally inconsistent now. Most of the time not working anymore at all, but soooometimes it works.

This is general issue with 2.5.3.21153 reproduced.

WORKAROUND until fix: We able to use the allied chat via mouse click.

The shortcut for allied chat not force to set the switch to allied after a timestamp, just open the chat with the last audience setting.

steps I take:

-connect server

-write a greeting to all forced

-then allied key not working anymore

-i write allied messages with mouse

-disconnect

-connect

-allied key instantly not working

 

Write to all after allies: allies text remaining highlighted

The allied chat key works but once you open all chat it will only open all chat until you click the slider with the mouse. Then after you set it back to allied chat it will open correctly again until you reopen all chat.

Actual bug name should be: keybinding not working, players have to switch to "allied" chat with mouse everytime.

Ok, just looking at the recent update, what I am seeing is an inconsistency in chat window bindings, sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesnt. The Allies command doesnt open Allies chat if you switch back to ALL. Sound about right?

The Allies command key doesn't open Allies chat after you switch to ALL_chat by mouse or via key shortcut.

Then allies key shortcut opening/closing the ALL chat.

This is now fixed internally, I haven't had a chance to test it yet though, just saw the fix come through, so will check this weekend.

it's better but not perfect. Needed further testing and evaluation.

Only reliable the close/open cycle for allies / all chat when I redefine key shortcuts for single keys. (without modifiers lshift, lctrl)

("allies"/"all" text coloring is the last thing I mention not perfect.)

3 tests

 

Chat not working as intended in default schortcuts.

Tested with 2 different keyboards, keyboards behave in the same way.

 

Testing should include several repetition of every shortcut of the 3.

 

suggested test cases:

_______________ : def / tst1 / good

Open/close read all: TAB / APPS / F6

allies write/read___: lctrl tab / lctrl tab / F7

all write/read_____: lshift tab / lshift tab / F8

 

these are mislabeled in order now:

"Multiplayer chat - mode All" (-->read all/close)

"Multiplayer chat - mode Allies" (-->write mode allies/read all)

"Multiplayer chat read/write all" (-->write mode all/read all)

 

In defaults if you close allies chat with the lctrl+tab, will never pop up allies chat for repetition of the keys. program use only the TABs function repetitively to open / close read all.

 

(if you used mouse click to alter the switch the labels (allies /all) coloring altered near the switch, the coloring not altered with the key shortcuts.)
