Update of Aug 29 causing Issues?

After the little update of Aug 29 in Steam, I noticed that the EW page went back to not showing symbology, not having beeps and tones,and there is no OSB for EW HUD and thus the EW HUD has been taken away.

 

 

 

Also, though probably unrelated, an MP mission that worked prior crashes DCS now.

 

 

Is this all due to the update?

What version number does it say you're on on the main menu? Not having those issues on the new 2.5.3 on standalone.

2.5.3.21016...however, I did an integrity check of the files via Steam and it found 2 files that needed to be re-downloaded--and now the EW page and EW HUD button appear to work (and they wer on by default in the 1v1 MiG-21 BFM instant action mission).

 

 

Haven't been able to check if that MP mission works or no yet. Will update post...

Yeah they've changed it so the EW HUD is on by default now in hot starts, which is great!

The dust is an interesting new feature:)

 

There are problems running MSAA with it tho.

Yes, but in the mission I was on it didn't seem like it was on by default I had Su-27s lobbing radar missiles at me and I never got warnings either in the EW page or audibly.

 

 

The shots and videos I've seen with a working RWR, EW page, and EW HUD show OSB 9 or 10 on the EW page being labeled "HUD"--but mine wasn't anymore.

 

 

But, after the integrity check of the files and the re-downloading, it appeared to solve the problem. I just don't know if the one MP I was running will still crash. I basically took an existing single player mission and changed the AI wingman to "Client." It works fine until another player takes that spot--then his DCS crashes, but mine will still be fine.

Patch notes states they removed MSAA 8x option, so more likely it did affect otehr lower settings on it?

I use the dust effect with MSAA x2 and don't have any problems.

So I found that if I run the stock instant action missions, the EW HUD is on and works. If I run any other missions, it's off and there is no OSB to turn on EW HUD, and no symbology or beeps in the RWR.

You've checked the RWR is switched on, yes? (Control panel below the centre MPCD)

I experienced exactly what you've described myself last night & blamed the update but I had missed the switch-on in my ramp start.

Oh you mean the one on that bank of buttons under the mpcd on the far right? I forgot about that. I knew I had to turn it on, but the switch I was flipping was for the countermeasures.

 

Thanks for the reminder. Now if I can just solve that multiplayer Mission issue.
