I just trapped aboard Stennis in the Hornet and it got me to thinking. A few nice things for the logbook would be...

1. Cats

2. Traps

3. Bolters

4. FCLP/Field Arrest

5. Day/Night landing differentiation.

6. Navy ranks, i.e., Ensign, Lieutenant Junior Grade, Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, Commander, Captain, Commodore, Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral, Admiral, Fleet Admiral

And anything else associated with Naval Aviation and Naval Aviator logbooks. It's been a long time since I looked at a "Yellow Sheet" now that I'm old and retired, but there's the list off the top of my head. Do they even still use Yellow Sheets?

Thank you for your consideration.

Yes, please.

8. Squadron patches for countries having a flyable airplane. I'm still waiting for M2000 squadrons patches but to be fair, I don't know if this is ED's responsability or Razbam's.

There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC

8. PLAYER TOTALS

i.e. overall (not avatar specific) cumulated stats, flight hours etc, per player (login)

this would allow one player to have several avatars/characters in different careers, e.g. a british WW2 guy, a norwegian F-16 pilot etc, while still cumulating their own player stats, flight hours etc.

also: avatars could be set to vulnerable without their records getting lost for overall player stats, when they die

A Colonel flying the Hornet kills the realism! They had a MOD that worked perfectly but that got broken in an update. IMHO being able to select branch of service as pilot should have been built into the game years ago. A Colonel flying a Hornet - come on.

These guys would like to have a word with you.

marines-dressblues_formation-1-1?wid=200 I don't see how a Colonel flying a Hornet kills one iota of realism, just select a Marine Corps livery now a Colonel flying an F-14 that is a different story.

Anyway I always figured the best solution for a log book in a flight sim is to have a player's log and a pilot's log.

The difference is that the player's log will log everything- highest rank, medals won, longest streak without being shot down, then a pilot's log you would select a nation, branch of service, and it would restart each time you died or reached the equivalent of a brigadier (retired/promoted to desk)
