If you press the radar fix trigger all the way to TV, you are effectively telling the nav system “adjust the currently selected navpoint to my current (or selected, if the radar is on) position”.

For various reasons (most likely because it's easier to do it that way in an INS-based system), waypoints are essentially a chain of relative positions: B1 is 80km at 270° from the start point; B2 is 40km, 360° from B1; B3 is another 60km, 120° from B2 etc. Consequently, if you adjust one waypoint / baspunkt, all subsequent waypoints will have move around in the world as well because their relative positions to the one you just adjusted do not change — the point in the world that they're relative to, on the other hand, did change when you pulled that trigger.

Target points (M) and mark points (Bx) work slightly differently as they're either linked to a specific waypoint or… well… I have no idea what Bx points are tied to (:D) but they're not part of that linked chain so you can manipulate them freely and have nothing else change.

To recover from it, you basically have to select the mis-fixed waypoint again, and put it back in the right position using the regular radar fix or fly-over fix methodologies. Also, learn to 1) keep a very close eye on the navpoint indicator so you always know what you're about to change, and 2) keep your fingers away from the fix trigger unless you are very sure you want to change things. :P

Really, for the most part, TERNAV should keep your position up to date automatically and relieve you of the need to do any nav fixes unless you're doing a lot of high-altitude ferrying — only target navpoints and markpoints should generally require any position updating.

You can also press the RENSA (clear) button once. First lift the cover, then press the button, it is located beneath the numpad of the CK37 computer.

If you press it twice, all position corrections are cleared.

I find if you spend a lot of time over water, particularly moving fast, you'll be a bit off on your nav when you get back over land. Having a good radar fix or landmark for your nav fix on return is handy.

Like Corvinus says, if you do a bad position fix update or by accident, then you can use the RENSA button under the cover just below the computer inputs keypad.

One click on it will revert the last position fix you made. Two clicks will revert all position fixes you've made.
