No mag check?

No mention in the manual of a preflight magneto check that I can find. Did I miss something, or is it really not needed?

Mag check (3%) is required each sortie.

Thought so. The manual, however, makes no mention of this. 3 percent of what though, if you don't mind my asking?

 

EDIT: ach, means a 3% RPM drop on a single magneto is acceptable, right?

You want to see a drop in RPM, but not an excessive drop. RPM drop when running on one magneto must not exceed 3%.

Set 70% RPM with Throttle and prop pitch full fine. Then Turn of a Mag check the RPM drop is no more than 3%. Put the Mag switch back to both. Repeat process for remaining Mag
