Devrim
Hi. I haven't been flying for a long time with Viggen. Last night I've started to re-learn this bird (by the way there will be some fixes on EN cockpit). What I've realized is that rotary buttons' sounds look a little bit fantastic and also there're annoying loop effects on engine sounds. I didn't change (expect for one) or re-record anything. I just shortened rotary sounds and fixed loop effects. COCKPIT: Shortened & reduced bass frequency of rotary buttons' sounds: AJS37_Valjare_01_BK.wav AJS37_Valjare_01.wav AJS37_Valjare_02.wav AJS37_Valjare_03.wav AJS37_Valjare_03_01.wav Removed reverb effect: AJS37_FSwitch_Dn.wav AJS37_FSwitch_Up.wav Fixed loop effect in gyro run: AJS37_gyro_run.wav Increased +4dB volume of G force effect: Viggen_Gforce.wav ENGINE: Fixed loop effects: LNS_VIG_Sound_INT_Engine_HighRPM.wav LNS_VIG_Sound_INT_Engine_LowRPM.wav LNS_VIG_Sound_INT_Engine_MediumHighRPM.wav LNS_VIG_Sound_INT_REVERSER_Main.wav LNS_VIG_Sound_INT_REVERSER_Main_AFTERBURNER.wav Fixed corruption that causes loop effect: Mig21InAfterburner.wav Fixed sound quality: Mig21InEngineLow.wav This sound effect has too much corruption due to changing its pitch I guess, and I'm not sure if Viggen is using this file or not because it has terrible sound quality. So, I used stock "EngineGE.wav" sound file that is the most similar sounds to each other to me. DOWNLOAD: DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Sound Effects Fixes v1.3 (01/2023) Thank you. Have fun. Dev. Rudel_chw
Thanks a lot ... I will try it to see how it sounds :) ... an annoying bug was that the rotaries don't sound if operated with key commands rather than the mouse, by any chance your Mod fixes that? Devrim
:flowers:Thank you. :) ...the rotaries don't sound if operated with key commands...Ah, same here but, no. This mod can't fix that malfunction. Not only the problem you mentioned also there're many control problems with Viggen. There're rotaries that don't want to spin, buttons that don't want to be pressed. :D I think the devs have lots of work to do. i7-2600 @3.4GHz | Corsair 16GB @1600MHz. | MSI GTX1660Ti Gaming X | Samsung 256GB SSD (Win10HPx64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | Saitek X-55 Rhino & Rudder | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
mrkline
Thank you for fixing the engine looping! I just got the Viggen, and found the loops really jarring, especially considering how lovely the rest of the plane's sound design is. Have you (or anybody else) opened a bug report with Heatblur to see if the official files can be fixed?
Devrim
Some friends mentioned about the issue, but if I'm not wrong there should be an update to fix the bug by HB, but I don't know if it is released or not. i7-2600 @3.4GHz | Corsair 16GB @1600MHz. | MSI GTX1660Ti Gaming X | Samsung 256GB SSD (Win10HPx64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | Saitek X-55 Rhino & Rudder | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
JagHond
Well, 'that' update has been released... but it's a fact that your mod is working fine. So, thanks for sharing your hard and refined work, and well done once again, Devrim. With best regards.
epolta
I appreciate and applaud your efforts, but engine loop is still present for me. Can't believe HB hasn't fixed this yet. Hopefully they won't have any annoying bugs like this in the Tomcat when it releases.

mrkline
I'm still hearing the looping/popping in the current open beta. It seems most noticeable when going from idle to military power: (compare this to how the same behavior sounds with Devrim's Viggen sound mod: ) But it seems to happen (sometimes more noticeably, sometimes less) whenever you make any significant change in power. I've annotated a 12 minute flight with the timestamps where you can make the loops/cuts out most clearly:
Devrim
Hmm. I didn't test (as your saying) "pooping" issue actually but it doesn't sound bad in my mod. Maybe I didn't even aware of "popping" problem I guess. :) Thanks for videos Mr.Kline. i7-2600 @3.4GHz | Corsair 16GB @1600MHz. | MSI GTX1660Ti Gaming X | Samsung 256GB SSD (Win10HPx64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | Saitek X-55 Rhino & Rudder | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068

I was saying that the Heatblur-provided sounds still have problems, and your mod fixes them. Things sound great in your mod - thanks again! The good news is that Cobra is now aware of it: Edited February 5, 2019 by mrkline
Devrim
No, no need to be sorry. I got you actually, and that's nice; They'll fix it I guess. Nooch
The audio fixes brought by this mod should come by default with the module, at least regarding the audio looping thing, very annoying. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Devrim
I hardly understand that some environmental and fundamental features and fixing bugs that are related those are left at the lower lines of priority list. After a year I'm surprised this bug still exists. :\ i7-2600 @3.4GHz | Corsair 16GB @1600MHz. | MSI GTX1660Ti Gaming X | Samsung 256GB SSD (Win10HPx64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | Saitek X-55 Rhino & Rudder | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068

I'm running OpenBeta 2.7.9.18080 (January 2022) and even with the long list of updates to the 37 contained in this patch, the enginge sound has not been fixed. Added the Devrim fix using OVGME and it works perfectly, no more loops or hiccups in the engine sound!
Devrim
Surprisingly yes, this mod is still needed. I checked the stock files after the latest update. Some of them are good - fixed but, I don't know why some sound files are still corrupted. So..
