Thanks Phil. I'm not sure I'll be able to find another group to form up for it but I'll give the rest of your tips a try. Cheers.

If you use the SoW discord, you will find plenty of people willing to fly with you.
the WW2 online community tends to not to be so active here on the forums.

Player/ pilot ribbons for November have been awarded. The full investiture and list of recipients is now up on the SoW website here:
https://stormofwar.net/2021/12/02/december-2021-sow-ribbons-investiture-for-november-2021/

There were 33 ribbons awarded this month in each category, another very busy month on the server. Just under 1500 unique players logged flight time, with over 220 flying 10+ hours in the month.

Congratulations to all awarded pilots.

i see.that people watched my videos, and half of the people started flying with a hidden tape - it shows that people are learning to fly on my videos.

I'm sorry, if something is not clear, then this is google translator)

Hey Mamba, use deepl to translate, it is much better.
Используйте Deepl для перевода, он намного лучше.

SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT:

Storm of War has now implemented the following into the mission set (version 110 missions) on the server:
1. AI Bomber raids for both teams will no longer spawn at predictable times during the mission, they will randomize, (within limits) each time a mission runs
2. The spawn time for the bombers is no longer contained within the miz file itself. It will no longer be possible to open up a trk or miz file and check when the bombers are to spawn in
3. We are now recording exactly how many bombers from each raid make it "home". This will mean, soon (hopefully) that we can also collect information about who was responsible for ensuring that a raid made it back. Escorting and protecting bomber formations will, therefore, soon be something we can show in the stats and award campaign ribbons for.

Big thanks to 2./JG54 Teckel for writing most of the code for this, and the SoW Projects Team for all the testing

It may have been talked about ad nauseam, it may not be historically accurate but you can bet it’s limiting player base……I’m just getting into DCS Warbirds, no interest in SOW because of the MW50 thing. We want COMPETITIVE gameplay. Not a re enactment of a lost war. Boom and Zoom planes without the zoom are boring. Just my .02. I lose to plenty of spits and mustangs on other servers without such limitations.

This has been discussed ad nauseam. Phil's made it very clear that the answer is no and will remain no. Even without MW50, the Kurfurst still outperforms the "historical" Bf109G6 (which is the one that fits the server timeline). Asking for the Kurfurst is already a stretch, but asking for the MW50 as well is IMHO not a reasonable request.

Allies have a Spitfire from late 1943 and an underrated Mustang; the Anton is the only axis plane that fits this 'summer 44' scenario. Ideally we would have the allied planes currently available against FW190 A-6/8s and BF 109G5/6s. Keeping MW50 off of the server is the only way to keep the server even remotely 'historically accurate'.

This may have been discussed as Nauseam, but it’s definitely impacting user base. I’m not going to be on SOW because of the MW50 issues. Energy fighters without the energy are target drones for P51D even without 75PSI. Boom and zoom planes need the zoom. Not to mention the fact when you spend $59.00 on a module you would like to use its features. Just my .02. His server his rules.

You're missing out on the best WW2 MP experience available in DCS but that's your choice.  MW50 is available on later missions in the campaign, but at airfields a little further away from the action.  Even without MW50 the Kurfurst is very competitive, as is every other aircraft that is available if you play to it's strengths and exploit the weaknesses of the opposition.  The server gets upwards of 1000 unique players a month and is often full at peak hours so it's doing just fine at the moment without your custom.  If you did want to try the server out I'd recommend looking through the Storm of War website and joining the Discord where you'd be made to feel welcome.  Otherwise, the other WW2 servers could always use the support. Growling Sidewinders runs on the channel map, and there the Clash of Wings server that is more newbie focused and offers dot labels, no need for the assets pack and runs on Caucasus.

YOU want competitive gameplay. Nuance.

There are plenty of competitive-oriented servers around. A historical-ish server isn't so. Ask any of the regulars flying Axis on the servers... they get their victories without much trouble.

If you can't use the 109 without MW50 in a setting where it already outperforms every other fighter on the server without it... then I'm afraid the problem lies with the hand that holds the stick, not the other way around.

drmorrish, the K-4 without MW50 outperforms the G-6 for many reasons, for example for the lack of HMG ammo drum bulges. You also can run it at 1.45 ATA all the time producing a little more power than the G-6 with 1.42 ATA, which was IRL limited to one minute of use. At first I had the same kind of thoughts, but then I thought it through and realized that it's just fine the way it is. Try to rethink it please. We need you there as well.

SoW is definitely not for you.
I suggest you keep playing on the other excellent WW2 servers.

Clarification of server rules and warnings related to player disconnections:
https://stormofwar.net/2021/12/20/december-2021-disconnecting/

Deliberately disconnecting from the server while in control of a moving aircraft is prohibited on the Storm of War server. Pilots must come to a complete stop or bailout first. This applies on the ground as well as in the air. Players who disconnect in the manner described above will be warned on the stats pages. Repeated disconnects after a warning might result in being banned from the server.
(Changing roles whilst similarly airborne is also not permitted, but this is restricted by server-side scripting)
