Massive framerate drop

When ever I get close to the Tarawa, my frame rate drops to the teens, which then causes problems hovering.

 

Never happens anywhere else.

R7 2900X, 32GB ram, 2 x gtx970's, game on SSD, OS on other SSD.

Can u give us some numbers? Normally u should have something about 100 fps.

Are u flying in VR? If u loose 45fps, it starts shuttering massively. Just by loosing 4 fps e.g.

Next time I fly it I'll enable the Geforce experience FPS counter, but put it this way, I can see the framerate has dropped a lot, I'd have to say it's somewhere in the teens, maybe 20's, but well away from the Tarawa, where I'll be at a lower LOD for it, it's probably up around 90 or so, but I will check.

i might try doing a dcs repair, sounds like your folders might be corrupted causing the engine to struggle, also, sli is proper broken, i get much higher frames on a single card than i do on SLI

Also, don't forget the usual post-patch solution of going to your <User>/Saved Games/DCS folder and deleting the fxo and metashaders folders. DCS pregenerates/caches some files used by the graphics engine, and changes to models, textures, the engine, or your graphics drivers may render those files out of date and unusable.

are u on Persian Gulf with A-A gun mode on the HUD?

if so go A G gun mode and then Vtol hud mode

I am on the PG map, but I was in VSTOL mode, I tried Fishbreath's suggestion and it seems to have done the trick, so at the moment the issue is resolved.

had stutters and freezes to when coming below 30ft after gun runs in a a gun mode, since a do not use a a gun anymore on PG i am getting no more stutters on landing
