FARP Hollywood : 002

Retaking Zomleti Strike Mission

:yay: Today I would like to celebrate my 100th forum post with a new mission. :yay:

2 days ago the town of Zomleti located 7nm SE of FARP Hollywood was invaded by a group of armed insurgents from an unknown organization. Our Intel has spotted about 20-25 armed insurgents along with a couple of light armored APC units. Today we are going to retake Zomleti. We are going to fly in 18 ground troops (Team Echo) via CH47D which will split off into two groups when on the ground. A Team and B Team. EagleOne will provide CAS for the ground troops.

Intel Update: Overnight a 3rd APC, a BTR-80, entered the area and has now taken position within 100 yards of our LZ. That BTR-80 must be taken out before our transport with troops arrive.

Runtime:

Mission will take approx. 25-30 minutes to complete.

Radio Frequency

FARP Hollywood : 50 FM

Thanks for another mission. It was a nice, short mission which wasn't that difficult. Just a good one to practice some high level attack on the BMP :-) Nice scripting and nice location/atmosphere.

If your missions would also have voice overs, then it would add even more to the atmosphere.

Just wanted to say it's great to see another active mission builder, thanks for all your work creating these ops for the community!

I'm a code nerd at heart and when I found out you can build missions with lua code, I went all in! Just my way of giving back to a great community! Now if I could just make a living doing this. :megalol:

I will definitely start doing voice overs at some point. I think that will take the missions to the next level. Might you be interested in helping out with some voice overs on future missions? :D would love to have some variety of voices.

Perhaps I'm stupid, but I can't find how to use Am 50 frequency in the huey.

With AN/ARC 134 : 116 Mhz to 149.975 Mhz

With AN/ARC 51 BX : 225.0 Mhz to 199.9 Mhz

And the third one is for crew member... I don't see any AM radio :(

I'm missing something ?

Good to hear. Not sure if my accent would fit... you may look for people with English as native language IMO.

Did I have to use the comms in this mission? I did not set the frequency but there was no need to talk to the FARP.

Na, comms really isn't needed for this mission but it does help out for those still working on navigation. Just a quick and easy way for some to find the way back home.

i played this mission yesterday. it was very good as always.

not too long (in fact little bit short), not too hard. just as for huey capabilities.

only problem i had was the fps near the farp. this farp has serious fps problems for some reason. i couldn't get over 25 fps when i near it.

Try it!

The Argo Campaign for example was an easy buy for me! I would love to pay a few dollars for a campaign or a mission pack in the quality of the Argo Campaign.

At least once or twice a month I would buy such a work!

Hi! yea i see the same things. i was experimenting a bit with objects on the FARP and I may have placed to many helios. i'll try to make things a bit better on the next mission. I sometimes can get carried away with creating scenery. :smilewink:

I have a huey campaign i'm currently working on now for the Persian Gulf map but its crazy time consuming. Especially when doing it while holding down a 9 to 5 on top of making other missions. Now that I think about it, general mission development appears to be time consuming. When I hit this lotto im going to have so much free time on my hands that I might could push out 1-2 campaigns a month. :D But im definitely going to take my time on and invest in it. i really want it to be top quality.

Awesome news about the PG campaign :-) We simply don't have enough PG missions so far even though it's a nice map.

I agree PG is a beautiful map and needs more missions from other aircraft. I see a few hornet missions have been developed just not too much for the helos. I do most of my F-18 practices on the PG map when I get the chance.

The problem is that not everybody owns the map. That's why we use Caucasus to fly online most of the time. However, this is not an issue for Single Player/offline ;-) Also Nevada and Normandy almost feel "abandonned" for helicopters. Main problem is because Caucasus offers quite a lot (different seasons, flat areas, mountains, sea....)

You are correct. Its a shame tho because it is a beautiful map with lots of potential as well as nevada and normandy. But what really has me excited is the upcoming South Atlantic map. All I can think about for this map is the Huey and aircraft from the 60s and 70s. I am definitely going to make up some Vietnam scenarios. Think im just excited about the south atlantic map as I am about the F-16 (which I hope still gets released at some point).

Hi ElementLT

Loving your “FARP Hollywood” missions

Done Hollywood 001, 002 and 003, working now in 004 and 005

They are very imersive, good feeling for the players

Very good build.

You should consider making a paid Campaign, I would buy it for sure

Just one note: In this “Retaking Zomleti” Mission my “M-134 7.62mm Machinegun” did some shots then stoped working, the barrels rol but no bullets, neither I or the Co-pilot could fire. Happened two times I’ve played the misson, so I had to get back to FARP, rearm the gunners and get back to finnish the job

Great work

Congrats
