Ship Evasive Action Maneuver

The carrier maneuvers are likely part of a shake down run after initial launch or time in dry dock.

 

If a US carrier needs to move like that in combat, you'll see heads roll due to a massive failure of the Layered Defense doctrine exercised in USN Task Forces...

Short of a ship to ship collision, there's nothing you can 'evade' by hard maneuvering in a ship, tbh. Torpedoes are not dumbfire. Missiles are way too fast. Dumb bombs aren't used anymore, and you would use the CIWS to shoot them (and the bomber) down anyway. By the time a ship sees something to 'evade' it's already sinking.
