Warmbrak
Make sure you don't have the center fuel tank attached and the gear not down. Thanks for that, I had the same question. Time to read that manual that someone put the effort into writing. Hopefully that will also explain why I am not getting any pings on the RWR from an SA-2 site in one of my missions? Edit: RWR is working! I suspect radar cross section of MiG-29 is much lower than some other aircraft, and detection range is much reduced (or RWR is not as sensitive as other types). probad
I suspect radar cross section of MiG-29 is much lower than some other aircraft, and detection range is much reduced (or RWR is not as sensitive as other types). this isnt how rwr works. for example, covering yourself with anechoic material wouldnt make you deaf; being black doesnt make you blind. you are simply in a position where your rwr antenna isnt picking up p-19 beam. the most likely case, the radar beam literally hasnt been positioned to be pointing towards you. ✯ МИР ✯
VC
Hopefully that will also explain why I am not getting any pings on the RWR from an SA-2 site in one of my missions? RWR doesn't have perfect 360 by 360 coverage, in fact it has pretty large blind spots especially below the plane. If you're talking about SAMs you might have had coincidences where they were constantly in your blind spot when scanning you, and not scanning you when they weren't. I don't know exactly what the blind spots are on the Mig-29, but on the Su-33, the RWR won't see anything in a 90 degree cone directly above and below you. VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting!
