Stratos
Is there a switch or lever in the cockpit to dump fuel so I can land with less fuel? Or a keyboard command maybe? Cannot found a proper one. Thanks. I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
Jonne
No, the MiG-21 can not dump fuel. But the afterburner does the job pretty well. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Oesau
LOL - yeah I was going to say the AB is the fuel dump!
Stratos
If I understood correcrtly, I need to be in between 500/800l left of fuel for landing, that can take a bit, even in AB. Кош
You can land with any fuel, jettisoning air to ground stores is quite enough. It is really important to hold vertical speed zero a couple of seconds just before touchdown. Good glideslope is runway standing on your hood until leveling up. Horizontal speed is slaved to your AOA, vertical speed and your current mass. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! Auditor
Hit the afterburner. I'm serious. Just do laps around the airfield if you need to dump fuel before a landing. It burns fuel at a rate where you only need to do one or two passes before you're below 2000kg anyway.
KilledAlive
Keep in mind that in order to maintain a landing speed of around 300-350km/h, you will be burning a lot of fuel to stay aloft while maintaining that angle of attack. As Auditor said, just do a couple of comfortable go-arounds so you can land safely, as well as dump your fuel tanks if you have anything left in those. czart13
MiG-21 bis cannot land with full tanks. The plane will be too heavy and will not withstand the chassis. The recommended residue is 800 l.
