Turnip Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I ran a mission where I had to take out a SAM ( Operation Neighborhood Watch - Mission 3 ) and while I get the right code in, uncage, get a lock, get within range with no problem, when I fire, JTAC gives me "ABORT ABORT ABORT, You do not have permission to fire." I checked the comms menu to see if I needed permission to fire but see nothing. What am I missing?
heclak Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 There are a few more comms messages that need to be completed. Off the TOP of my head, after the laser goes on, you’ll need to say you’ve spotted the laser and you’re in. JTAC will tell you that you’re cleared hot. Turnip Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 AH OK! I saw that and selected it after I fired the first missile and got the ABORT message. I think the order in which I selected it was probably off. I will refly it later and report back. Thanks

Thanks Uh, expect more problems with locking up a SAM...pretty sure it has already been reported as a bug...Listen carefully at the nine line, every SAM I've gone after, the JTAC will say he's using WP (Willie Pete = White Phosphorus) smoke grenade rather than lasing it....I have managed to get the JTAC to say he wanted the AGM65 and he took it all the way to IP Continue...after that, I never got a laser from him that would lock the target....let me know if you get a kill on a SAM with a MAV

flyco Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I have found that quite often, the JTAC will call “Abort, Abort, Abort” immediately after the target is destroyed. Presumably to stop further ordnance being expended.
Alphamale Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 JTAC will do this if you have several targets in close proximity and you kill one "out of order" due to collateral damage
Turnip Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 The ABORT call was right after I launched. About to fly it again.
Alphamale Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 The ABORT call was right after I launched. About to fly it again. If it calls immediately after pickel, then it means you either are about to destroy the wrong vehicle or you were not Cleared Hot
Alphamale Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 A lot of these aborts occur when the JTAC is using smoke to mark the location of the target, but the target is located very near to other targets and when you drop the ordinance, your margin of error (freefall bombs) has you killing one of the others in the close group...and I think that needs to be fixed...if there's a row of vehicles and JTAC says the target is 125m northwest of the smoke, how are you supposed to know which one in the row is JTAC talking about....ABORT message should not be given for any potential targets killed in a predetermined radius from the designator's intended target due to collateral damage
Predator-78 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Hi, I'm editing a mission with JTAC in flight with the drone. It also tells me ABORT ABORT ABORT after releasing the AGM-65E missile. I specify that I fired after the LASER ON was communicated to me by first clicking on TEN SECOND. Has something changed? Where am I doing wrong? Scotch75 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 You also have to comply with the final attack headings that the JTAC gives you in the 9-line.Cheers!Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 32GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, GALAX GTX GeForce 1070 EXOC Sniper White 8GB VRAM
