Training Missions "space bar"

Hello,

 

 

I'm having a rather frustrating issue when playing the training missions. (yes I'm all new to the Mirage!)

 

 

 

At the very beginning I am asked to press space bar. But nothing happens.

 

 

 

I tried a solution that worked for another module, which was to press the trigger button on my hotas. But this time with no effect.

 

 

Is there a way to pass this issue ?

One thing I noticed (with all training missions....not just the Mirage) is that sometime you need to wait until the instructor has finished saying all of the dialogue and then press space.bar right after he says to press the space bar. Doing it sooner can cause the press to be ignored.

Thanks for the tip but I tried to wait before clicking anything, sadly with no success.

 

 

So far the only solution I came across is to edit the mission itself and change some triggers so the new markers activate automatically, without waiting for the player's input. It works but at the cost of some text loss. I suppose it is possible to improve this by adding a timer between two triggers.

 

 

 

Here with this post I add my version of the edited cold startup mission. At least it can be played to the end, minus some text infos. Sorry I had to zip the .miz file due to size limitations.

Is spacebar still set as the default "fire weapon"?

Hey! Sorry to hear you have trouble. Check that you have SPACE BAR assigned as default key to "fire weapons", sometimes lack of this binding causes problems.

Yes indeed "space bar" is assigned to the "weapons fire" in addition to my hotas trigger. But I had to assign it manually via the menu since my space bar gets ignored by DCS apparently. (no detection when I press it).

 

 

 

I am really unsure why this is not working. The thing I noticed is that it doesn't work for other modules missions where space bar is required. So it's not something linked to the module itself I believe. I will need to investigate further.

Side notice, since it's somehow related and probably doesn't deserve a new thread:

 

In the NTTR navigation mission, there is no message when the user is asked to turn to waypoint 2 and go there. I followed the instructions and got all the way to WPT 2 (some 6 minutes away) and nothing happened.

 

Then I realized the space bar message may have been forgotten ;)

 

It's probably best to add it, to avoid confusion.
