Hello,

I made some progress with the Sparrow Missile setup. Now it is the general purpose bombing I am having trouble with. The bombs will not release I am using an online guide I keep getting DUD in my hud display. And suggestions will be appreciated!

Thank You,

MAY THR FORCE BE WITH YOU, ALWAYS

Sometimes you have to change the mode from auto to CCIP then back. That is what fixes it when it happens to me.

I don't use Auto mode anymore. CCIP is more accurate for me.

Usually if you don’t set the mechanical fuze or mfuze to whatever the bomb should be set for it will be a dud bomb. Technically if you did drop it there wouldn’t be an explosion when it hit the ground and so it is considered a dud.

AUTO can be assisted for accuracy by diving but until the plane has a targeting pod CCIP is definitely the more accurate way to go. Also not so sure AUTO bombing is calculating correctly in the Hornet. I haven’t tried it in ages, but early on in release if you dropped a bomb at 350 knots around 5000 feet above target you hit close, but if you change speed or altitude the bombs dropped way off the spot they were supposed to hit.

Someone on comms last night said AUTO was currently fakaktah

Glad I'm not the only one, and you win for your use of fakakta :megalol:
