Laud Posted July 1, 2007 Share Posted July 1, 2007 I just set up a new rig and have to activate FC (the saved .reg-file doesn't work because of the hardware changes). Now when I try to do so I get a message that the server for the activation isn't available. I thought maybe there's a problem with my firewall or something similar so I went to the Starforce website and tried to activate my FC in the form on their site. When I enter my data there I got a message that this key isn'T known to their database. So can anybody tell me what is going wrong here?? P.S.: I use my key saved in .txt-file. It worked several times. Although I thought maybe I should check if there's a failure in it but as the ED website is down I can't do so. Help please!!! I want to see how FC is running on my new comp!! I think, the mentioned database containing Starforce registration data is offline because of that, too. It is no personal thing just against you - quite some people are waiting now either for access to DL FC again or have FC activated. Just relax, lean back, drink a beer or two and let ED do their stuff. We all have no idea what is going on in Russia and what ISP problems have to be solved to bring lockon.ru online again, but I'm sure they are all very pissed by the setbacks and delays as much as we are.... kind regards, Raven.... But I agree that it takes really long just to kick someones asses and make them bring things to work. You are doing them wrong. ED is a company that consist at least of Devs -> guys who do the programming Admins -> who do the coordination stuff and keep the company running (paperwork, legal stuff, facilities, resources) Marketing guys -> who try to sell the stuff that the Devs developed And the ISP - which is the problem here - is not even a company member. I have bought SU-27 Flanker, FLANKER 2.0, LOMAC and Flaming Cliffs, but I cannot enjoy FC due to a ugly protection system which do not let me (a legal user) use it. The company Egosoft has released StarForce free patches of X2 once it were out longer than 24 months. It's a shame that ED can't offer alternatives. Serveral days have passed now...
