I have an issue where I can see the scratch pad in the window/full screen side but not when in VR.

I activate the sp with ctrl shift x and can see a white dot in the center but cannot see the pad or anything I type.

ETA: FIXED!

SlowMover posted this a few pages back.

Followed it to the letter:

Hey guyz.It does not work for me anyone can help?I press Lctrl+Lshift+X and nothing.Installed at <<<C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts...I tested on multyplayer nothing

EDIT

i fix it.Installion directions is wrong.You have to put to files to work.

Put Scratchpad file at C:\Users\YOUR Name \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts

and scratchpad-hook.lua at C:\Users\YOUR Name \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Hooks

Lctrl+Lshift+X

I thought mine wasn't working

delete x:\..\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\ScratchpadConfig.lua

to get back the default windows position

Many thanks for this.

Two questions;

1) can you set the hot key to a DX joystick button, e.g. DX5 or similar?

2) how can you switch its default state to be off?

Scratchpad + onscreen keyboard. Absolutely brilliant script/mod for VR users. Why did I wait so long to do this... great stuff and thanks to the designers!

It's a total game changer in VR. Surely, ED must incorporate something like this into DCS.

IIRC the state is inherited from session to session. So if you quit a session with the Scratchpad off, when you start again, it will still be off.

When you hit the wrong button on take-off

I would love to have this features, too.

I use the version with keyboard and need to close it after each DCS start.

Also a joystick button will be much more VR friendly. Yes it can be solved with extra tools, but i try to limit the tools I have to start prior DCS launch.

MODULES: To much to list. But I stopped buying more, because of too much bugs in e.g. A-10C(II). @ED: Fix the bugs and I spend money on modules again. Promised.

I just use the up arrow key to switch it on or off. Works fine in VR as key easy to locate.

In the Scripts\Hooks\scratchpad-hook.lua file, add this code at line 121 :

alt = mist.utils.round(mist.utils.metersToFeet(alt), 0)

Should look like this :

Many thanks for this.

Two questions;

.....

2) how can you switch its default state to be off?

For those using the Keyboard version that (apparently) doesn't save the on/off state between sessions I finally took the time to dig through the LUA code to figure out how to change the default state to off (so you don't need to turn it off EVERY TIME YOU LOAD DCS).

In the Scripts\Hooks\scratchpad-hook.lua file (again this is the Keyboard version of the scratchpad provided a few pages back), uncomment the scratchpad.hide() function call at line 1478. Should look something like this when uncommented. (Turns out I don't speak/read Romanian but "sa apara ascuns" means something along the lines of "to appear hidden" according to google so this makes sense!)

scratchpad.hide()    --sa apara ascuns

The scratchpad is now hidden on load and you can bring up using the usual hot-key when you need it in cockpit.

Mine stays hidden every time I launch. It only appears after first install and it saves enabled/disabled state. You should try a clean reinstall of the mod and delete your options.lua and any config files this mod created.
