When in cockpit, press "RCtrl + RShift + NumPad /" and "RCtrl + RShift + NumPad *"to move forwards and backwards respectively.

Also, "NumPad 5" centers the view, even on the menu screen, so you don´t have to start up with your neck in a fixed position.

Thank you !

Looks like the motion sickness is a non-issue . It doesn't seem to be affecting my stomach at all . I get just a very brief (2-3 sec) dizziness when maneuvering hard . Worst effect is when i do a fast 360° roll . When i stop it , it feels like my inner ears wanna keep going . Still , no prob , flew an hour-and-a-half (so far) today , interrupted by a few graphics adjustments . Longest uninterrupted flight was 1/2 hr , until the wife tapped me on the shoulder . (Sigh)

I remember my first DCS VR experience fondly as well, and was equally excited. So yes, welcome to VR.

If you have not yet be sure and fly up to some to altitude and eject out of your plane.

The trip down is pretty cool.

Thank you !

anytime!

I find default position way too far from the front panel.

Bear in mind, you have to move forward everytime you enter an aircraft, I don´t know of a way to save the customized position.

Yeah , gonna experiment with saving a snap view at some point - mine was way to close due to current poor pit ergonomics . The virtual throttle is under my elbow...

Nice post, I have been on the fence a long time,,, seems like its time to jump. In reality, I have NO DEPTH PERCEPTION. I dont know if it will be as immersive for me? Time to smooth over the wife to find out. Glad you are very happy sir!

Yeah Big +1 on refueling being easier in everything except the harrier since you still can't see the 'ing probe....

Wait till you refuel or fly close formation with your squadron on the way to the target at dawn or dusk, or merge in a dogfight :) the list goes on truly amazing.

I noted how much better pattern work was last night . SA was so much better re the runway , and the view of it in the turns so much more natural . I never achieved that in TiR , felt like Linda Blair at times .

Huh? I've landed both the F18 and the harrier on carriers, am I missing something?

Yeah, the head tracking alone is worth it for VR, I keep saying. But the 3D, and ability to judge distance is also very nice.

Hornet and L-39 today . The later is especially good in VR with oversized and well-marked instrumentatation , and clearly loads the CPU less . Much smoother frames even with terrain shadows on than than the Hornet without . May have to go back to my first love until I upgrade the CPU . Managed not to tip my chair backwards doing loops in both , shot a few landings . Felt like a crop-duster dodging last-second power lines-pylons that you can't see until almost-too-late , though maybe wearing glasses will help .

Yeah. You (mostly) can't see it, so maybe not. Depends how you look at it.

p.s. it's the ball.

Never used it in VR. Most of my hornet landings are off script anyway.
