Mr_Burns
Hi, I am looking for a touchscreen to use as my F/A-18 UFC as I have failed miserably at making one!! Ebay is selling things called touch button screen, which I would imagine are not touch screens at all?! Has anyone bought, or dealt with push button screens? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12-Inch-Touch-Button-IPS-PC-Ultra-Thin-1920x1080-Monitor-Speaker-Remote-Control/152900757341?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140106155344%26meid%3D872428918ea244a5902b21a0b7c1d6bd%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D123010437032%26itm%3D152900757341&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 Ideally I didnt want to spend more than $150AUD on a 12 inch touch screen, there is a point of sale screen but as its industrial its too bulky for the pit. Any other ideas on budget touch screens?? Thanks
Mr_Burns
I also saw these: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-1-Inch-IPS-Touch-Screen-Ultra-Thin-FHD-1280-800-Video-PC-Monitor-Display-AU/152900703159?hash=item23999793b7:g:tfwAAOSw8W5afVIC:rk:8:pf:0 Do you think they would work without the stylus? I will send them a question in anycase but I thought I would ask here.
Pfeil
Pretty sure the first item is a normal screen, it's just that the front panel controls for power and the built-in onscreen menu are touch sensitive rather than traditional pushbuttons(I.E. they are used to control the screen itself, and don't send anything to the computer it's attached to). The second item is likely a resistive touchscreen, judging by the type of stylus. These types of screen do technically work without the stylus, as they register pressure on the screen from any object, but they're not as sensitive to touch as your phone would be, for example. Where a modern phone using a capacitive touchscreen will in some cases detect your finger even before it physically touches the screen, a resistive touch screen will often require a reasonable amount of pressure before it responds to your input, making for a less pleasant experience.
