Feature Preview: The Trap Sheet

Cobra847

Recommended Posts

One of several novel features that we haven't shown yet is the Trap Sheet.

The F-14 is a module of many firsts (JESTER, jetwash & vortices, advanced multicrew, etc.) - and another new DCS feature that we've not shown yet is the Trap Sheet.

This function tracks your progress in the groove and gives you quick feedback on your carrier landings once you've hit the deck. Grade function still WiP. :)

Very good idea! :)

Note that there is a coffee stain on this sheet, so they do drink coffee up there. What if we buzzed the tower? ;)

Very cool feature!

Brings up the question why DCS hasn't this feature for every carrier capable aircraft? Even for airfields it would be great so you can check if you are doing it right. :book:

Rule #1 still applies: Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing :pilotfly:

Indeed, a good teacher function

I'm bad enough as it is, don't write it down!

Looks like a kneeboard feature or something so technically you don't have to bring it up just to bring yourself down.

Great idea, HB, BTW.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

Nice, clear and concise. Looks great.

I know it’s off topic but... I know carrier CASE II and III recovery comms are due for an overhaul by ED at some point but I wonder if HB have any plans to add LSO comms such as what Alerax and Bankler provided in their fantastic scripts.

I see a lot of passes from various sources where the aircraft isn’t close to being on speed. Don’t develop that bad habit, you’d be waved off for many of the aforementioned approaches and get hook skip bolters if not. Landing at max trap weight, speed was critical for arresting gear stress as well.

Nice to see HB giving tools to analyse passes.

Viewpoints are my own.
