Seems like it aught to, and probably will eventually as it moves through early access.

It requires VMF, which uses arc-210 (DCS),and it is arc-210 in the game.

Per you answer, what I don't understand is that since arc-210 exists in DCS. so why not have this option ?

Bump again would to see this feature, and see if ed would confirm if it's coming , Especially since the harrier already has this function.

CAS format wasn't added until OFP 23X, around 2010. Unlikely ED has information on it.

The cas page looks like it functions just like what you have on the harrier. There is open source paper on how it was being integrated for the legacy Hornet.

But yeah considering its a later OFP and post 2005 and they want to keep things consistent theyl only stick to things applicable to OFP13C and OFP15.

ED has modeled things from various OFPs, it's not that consistent (understandably so), but yeah, when faced with modeling something never planned it's likely they won't elect to do so when it's in something so new. It'd be great though - I'd be totally for it.

I forgot about that paper though. I haven't read it in full, but if it describes the CAS format sufficiently to model it, then that's great. Usually white papers don't describe avionics functions in enough detail though to be used as the sole source.

DCS in this case means digital communications set, it's a different version of ARC-210.

Last I checked the ED hornet should have the DCS. iirc that's the sequential AFC with JHMCS and MIDS

For sure, I'd still like to see ARC-210(DCS) though, it would mean we have the ability to cipher comm 2 separately from the KY58, making it possible to encrypt both radios.
OT, but on that note, is it possible to encrypt the radio and communicate with F-14s? We couldn't make it work with my squadron, I'm thinking that the KY-58 and KY-28 are incompatible.

No idea I'm afraid
