I saw that, too (Jester VAICOM plugin). Does anybody have any details at all about that? I asked Jabbers on FB if he was using an early build of the Jester plugin and he said it was just the vanilla VAICOM plugin. So good to know there wouldn't be much extra setup required out of the box to interact with Jester (at least in a basic fashion), but I'm very interested in details on the Jester-specific plugin.

It is because the wings are in oversweep when the auto button was pressed. The wings need to be at 68 deg or less and the master reset needs to be pressed anytime the the emergency wing sweep handle is moved.

If the wings are in oversweep and you hit the button for "auto", the indicator will continue to display oversweep and emergency until with wing sweep handle is moved to 68. Once you set it to 68, press down the handle, and hit the mast reset; the CADC will take over and motor with wings as needed as part of the wing sweep program. The auto flag will also display on the indicator at that time.

Conspiracy mode on:

To include a takeoff within a cold and dark video from runway 27 while the next OB patch is on the 27th?

Conspiracy mode off!

Good point there rdlaugh.png

Never give up hope... even though the ED weekend newsletter didn't even mention the Tomcat aj-hm.png

Thanks for the video. What a great module it is.

This video is also a good presentation of what Voice Attack could do. It is now on the “i need this” list to, thanks!

In a comment on the video, HB confirmed that's the real audio.

I have watched the takeoff at the end of the video 1000 times. With all those bumps and shaking the cat looks so alive! Look at the ASI needle shaking with full afterburner! All those little details make it very special. Thank you Heatblur!

One little bug I have noticed: After the right engine startup, the OFF-flag of the right fuel flow gauge is still visible, although the engine is running.

Look here at around 6:40

Awesome stuff! Jester assisted start-up is going make learning the ins and outs of the pilot's cockpit so much easier.

A couple of questions:

1st: For those of us who do not use voice attack, how do we confirm our "checks" with Jester. Via the radial menu?

Yes

One question Cobra847:

You have wrote somewhere that you will tone down or remove that "anoying" buzz-tone background noice when Jester is speaking, it was also heard with Jester-UI. Is that still the planned?

Im obviously not Cobra, but yes it was toned down. The reason it is so loud in this video is I turned off the "Hear like in helmet" option to enhance the audio for the video (and turned everything way up.

Awesome video.

During the engine indicator test, Jabbers said the TIT indicator should be around 500, but it was at 400?

400 is around 500 isnt it? ;)

Great video, thank you.

Out of curiousity, how long did you need to set-up the voice-attack commands to get Jester to respond to the queries from the pilot?

It was 3 bindings (excluding setup of ground crew interaction), startup, check, loud and clear.

All joking offcourse :). Me and my RIO are patiantly waiting, but for now we use the manual and videos like these to get ready.

Less then a month and sooner is always welcome but till then much more to learn and watch about this module!

What a wonderfull addon it will be.

That's just awesome! okyd755w.png

Didn't read the comments yet, that video literally popped up just the moment I was going to hit the hay. But I then had to watch it at least rdlaugh.png

Makes me wonder though. This sound should come through the helmet (=intercom) - unchecking "hear as in helmet" should turn up everything outside of the helmet, like engine, wind, ECS and switches sounds. Why's that buzzing sound turned up then as well? I guess it's some kind of ED limitation here as it's neither a warning tone nor radio chatter... aj-hm.png

The sounds at the end there are just pure pornography.

They're so great you can't believe it's DCS rdlaugh.png

So you go through start up in jester i assume you just check by flicking the switches to confirm for next check as i dont have voice attack

There's probably a Jester radial menu option for "Check" which you'd reply to him with. Thats all that Voice Attack is activating.

Will there be an "autostart" option?

Goodness I hope not. Bad enough the Hornet has it.

No autostart will help vet out the Air Quakers on the servers.

Sorry, call it how I see it.

Not "autostart", but must be a short start up,you know 24 min to start a plane..

Top Gun would look totally different.

The startup procedure was about 50% system checks. I'm sure you could reduce the start time by omitting those parts in a scramble scenario, but "proper procedure" would demand that you make sure the several-million-dollar machine you've been trusted with is working correctly before taking it off the ground.

Just wondering, if there will be an option to turn OFF the switch highlighting once you’ve learnt the cockpit.

I appreciate this is an assistance startup, but wouldn’t the crew talk and use checklists normally during different phases of the flight anyway. By having an option to turn off the highlighter, it would be so so much more immersive and make you feel more like a double crew.

Also can you talk to Jester like this in other phases of flight and run checklists. After takeoff, fence in, and landing checklists for example?
